How many total weeks from seed to harvest, and what expected yield (DWC v soil)

Depends on the space you have. I use 4x4 SJ DR120's and 600watt lights.

Pointers to growing in 5' high space.

Another bump for scrog. Netting is a cheap and pain free method of keeping height in check. In the summer months when my heat is up I have to keep my ladies under netting for the first 2 weeks of flower. Low/mid 80's cause my strain to stretch like crazy.

I'm switching from soil to hydro - migration advice?

Glad you scratched that idea because I was going to post the same thing the other guy did. I've tried transplanting from soil to hydro twice and failed miserably both times due to root rot. This was years ago though. Lesson learned.

    Any experience with...

Like Mr. 69 said: Soil is forgiving for new growers. Coco is a form of hydro and requires much more attention. To answer your question though, coco will always produce bigger/faster/better due to the ability to fine tune what the plant eats and how much.

    Peat Pellet?

Yea it would get kinda messy after the sheath begins to deteriorate. Those little chunks of peat would likely get into your res, plus there are biologicals in the peat you just might not want in a sterile res. When I was fooling around with peat pucks I would always use them to start seeds for...

who is using non-coco specific nutes?

Been using CNS17 bloom lately with decent results. I can't find the coco specific bottles in gallons, so I just bought the regular and add a bit of calmag every watering.

I use 3 gallon smartpots and have to water every day during flower using a 600w hps. Kinda wished I would have stepped up to the 5 gallon personally.
