Post your best tips/ Learning Experiences

If you are into hydro - switch from "NPK ratio calculations" to ppm calculations - the sooner the better. Read university grade books about greenhouse business and hydroponics. Cheap equipment is only starters equipment - soon as possible switch to branded stuff. There is a lot of...

    Best PH meter.

On the side note - did anyone try to use Hanna refractometers for nutrient solution? They seem great to analyze the nutrients solution but cost about 1000€ here (plus reagents).

    Tissue culture cloning at home?

It looks great - I hope I will try it one day. Tissue culture is the best way for SOG and everything...

Why is this never used or talked about?

As far as I know, plants breathe O2 (like humans) from leaves and roots. But during day (with help of light) they produce O2 as byproduct of photosynthesis (CO2 + water). And still, they breathe... The bottom line is, They "produce" much more O2 than they use it...

    Best PH meter.

When you buy it you can buy a STORAGE solution, CLEANING solution (general or anorganic cleaning agent etc), EC and PH calibration solution. I calibrate it once a month - but I tried before even on weekly basis - it's not needed (by my usage - 30x / week) Before calibration i clean it with...

Check HANNA INSTRUMENTS - they have great equipment (laboratory grade @ good price) and "after-sale support"

Excuse to customs for hydroponic solution

Try to have a little family business so you are legal - here we have a legal form of business called something like "family agricultural business" all you needed for that is 1000m2 (and you don't need to own it just lease it) of LAND that you need to report to "local government office" - and if...

1000w dimmed at 60% or 600w hps bulb.

It's more efficient PPF (or even lumen) wise to use 600W bulb/ballast that have 1000W bulb/ballast@600W. Check the documentation of your ballast manufacturer.

    Nurture over Nature?

Hydro (if done right) just enables you to reach plants genetic potential from feeding side - you still have light as number one limiting factor in INDOOR growing, you would need to have 850-1100 PPFD everywhere for the light not becoming limiting factor. And now the question arises - if it...

Do nutes have an expiration date?

Liquid probably - salt ones (if they aren't exposed to moisture) probably not

    Smell coverup for indoor tents

Did you ever get 100% (for human nose) weedless smell? I tried few but never got perfect smell - maybe 80% less smell Increased it with O3 generator in exhaust pipe to maybe 90% but still there is little smell (plus O3 smell)...

Just interested, how can you have two little "CFM" to obtain negative pressure? Is your garage really like a train terminal?

Experts Advises about this stressed plant is welcome.

Did you tor out a lot of roots during transplant? Maybe add some H202 so you have 2-3% in whole DWC system (I prefer sterile environment for hydroponics) Te be honest I never did the thing you did - but it shouldn't be a reason for a plant to die. I suppose it will recover and hopefully only...

I'm looking for any help or advice on building a simple deep water culture system for my patio plant

OK, i know this isn't really what you asked - but only mi opinion. Mother plants are here for a long run so they need to be fail-proof. I had SOIL / HYDRO and SOIL / SOIL (as time passed by) mother plants. With premixed liquid nutrients, PH fluctuates a lot (at least with HESI, Platinium, GH)...

Cloning From Feminized Seeds - Is It Possible, Difficult or Impossible?

I had bad results with GHS feminised seeds, whey it was time for cloning all of the offspring had bananas in early flower period.... On side note i made about 4.000-5.000 clones in life with about 90-95% rooting rate from WW, JH, AMN, OG hybrids from few seed shops....
