    Heatsinks in Europe

Any ideas on optimal fin height? I am thinking 40mm should suffice no? One COB centred on a 150mm width and 200mm length of heatsink. Weld these heatsinks together 6 at a time to provide a 350 x 600 array to cover a 300 x 600 shelf.

    Heatsinks in Europe

Nice @alesh thanks for that.....am designed something sexy for leafy vegetables. Probably COMPLETE overkill, but it will be a thing of beauty :)

    DIY CXB2530 3000K 80cri U2 bin (Vero Killers!)

Please forgive a potentially idiotic question, but given the relative lack of heat dissipation forwards from a COB and the ability to place them close to the plant, has anyone ever experimented using COBs on a side-lighting panel to reach the lower part of their plants?

    V series "Tetras"

So the Fischer stuff is interesting to me (based in Germania) and I was looking at this one: SK 162 600 SA

    V series "Tetras"

I just wish more people in the world had the time to actually understand the truth of things like this......kind of "grounding" to see how things really work. Thanks.

    Spectrum king led

A quick search of Alibaba will show you that the Spectrum King design is a bog standard warehouse downlighter .....I was going in their direction, then realised what I would have to buy to cover my area properly.....now am building my own. There are so many clever and hard working forum members...

REALSTYLES 6th DIY CXA 3590 5000k DB bin

I believe there will shortly be a new section on Pornhub (or whichever aggregator)....."LED Porn".....followed shortly by "DIY LED Porn", then "Amateur LED Porn", then "Mature Amateur LED Porn"........one day when I grow up I will also open the door to a delivery guy with a package full of COBs...

    DIY COB reflectors

Thanks mate - was trying to find a stockist that didn't ask me to order a pack of 500 ;) (although I'd love to be in a situation to have to order 500.....imagine all that light!)

    DIY COB reflectors

So the order is now in for the Arctic 11Plus, Meanwells, 3070s, Fan Power unit and now we're down to reflectors and chip holders. Is there anyone in Europe that knows where to source the Ideal Chip-Loks? Can't seem to find any. Thanks again to all of you for either asking my stupid questions...

    DIY COB reflectors

Very nice - am also looking at holographic diffusers. I think (based on as much reading as I have done of your fantastic contributions to this site) you'll be dead-set against diffusers given their impact on efficiency, but I have a bug in my b*tt about producing a uniform or homogenous light...

    DIY COB reflectors

Have you checked out the idea of a V-Groove RXI lens - this mixes multiple sources. The problem is the lens is very bespoke and is small....the the concept is cool :)

    DIY COB reflectors

So are we thinking/assuming the square sided reflector might be better than the conical shaped? Forgive me if I have misunderstood the your enthusiasm Supra.....maybe I am mis-reading between the lines. I certainly like the idea of welding something to the heat sink like that.

    What colors do fruits prefer?

So whilst the targeting of light is good and the specific spectra is I am sure relevant to specific processes within the specific crop, if there was a way of diffusing the wide-band light of a COB (or multiple COBs in one reflector at different angles to spread the light better) - would this not...

LED lighting requirements for microgreens and aromatic herbs

Metacanna.....yesterday I started up actively researching forums for the answers to similar questions to yours an came across RIU (I posted the below post)....and we have a similar goal. I am also interested in seeing how a 1.2 x 1.2 x 2.2m grow tent could provide a range of veg over a 12 month...
