Rule of thumb, in flower, only green lights during the night... vegetative, red should be ok because 24 hour light is common and wont harm the plants... people use green to work in the dark during flower... :) hope that helps!...

Not sure why, but all I can say is that people use what they are comfortable with, or what they have experience with... :) LST a pretty awesome way to keep a plant small, so if I can stuff more roots in a longer thin slim pot, i am better off in the end. The more the plant can grow and handle...

Ok, so then my advice would be to wait 2 more days, if nothing, start over. Or be careful and dig around the seed that you are curaintly trying to germinate with a tooth pick and look for any signs of movement or germination, by looking for the taproot, etc... if nothing, you could try the...

Use a plastic takeout cup from a restaurant. Not the foam or paper ones... just cut holes underneath for drainage...

The taproot needs more room to grow underground. Pot needs to be bigger, like a small cup with drainage holes, or even use rockwall cubes...:)

Btw, I start under lights at 18/6 as soon as that bean is under ground...

Thats a beetle, no harm or foul... beetles can eat plant matter and some eat other insects. If you ever notice your plants getting damaged from this pest, then I would be concerned...! Hope this helps!... :)
