yeah they can get costly I would say with a fan blowing directly on the light would work better then you are cooling the source of the heat. If your using seeds there is no garantee of getting females. Feminized seeds are the best for it but I have heard they hermie easier.

If you get a vented light shade you can get a little closer. With my vented light shade I can get 8" away with my 600watt without any problems.

Its really a matter of opinion. Some say 24 hours = faster growth but my plants grew faster once I put them on 18/6 then they did on 24hours. In the long run I think its just gonna cost you more than its worth to have the light for the extra 6 hours.

how exactly does 2 600watt bulbs = more lumens than 2 1000watt?? Do the math.

Thats waht they say but my white widow just finished and it only grew 2 inches from the time I switched to 12/12 to finish. they finished at 22" so dont always use this theory as I was dissapionted by people telling me this and it never happend.

I have not used mylar but have heard it works too quite a few people use it with no problems.

Your yield will be a little better with the 1000watt more light = more buds, but living in a desert you may run into heat problems. If you can control heat with no problem I would go with the 1000 watt. I have a 600watt and am now wishing I had just gone with the 1000watt. 1000 is cheaper and...

Do NOT!! use tin foil!! It will create hot spots and burn your plants. Either paint flat white or use panda plastic also known as black and white polly plastic.

sounds to me like you need a new timer. If it lights up when you plug it in but just not with the timer I would say the timer is shot. Its not letting enough power through.

Ok I just pulld apart a small bud a had drying over a heater and when I pulled it appart I noticed it was FULL of seeds. How did this happen?? I got rid of the males early I got rid of the hermie I found, I havent seen any balls on these plants. Does this mean my whole crop is wasted??

Thanks, Probably gonna be at least a week before I can sample it. I cant wait!! Yeah all I cut off was the fan leaves. I'm gonna wait till its dry to trim the buds. there is enough crystals on what will be the trimmings to smoke I'm sure.
