Fine hairs should technically be fine within the rockwool cube. Only roots that poke out end up dying which from what i understand is exactly what is supposed to happen. They get airpruned and in turn the rootball within the cube gets more dense and grows laterally.

But 650-750 cant be too high can it? I think its a bit higher than going in because the pump in the runoff doesn't get rid of all the water and theres some that stays in there. Water evaporates and the concentration of the PPM goes up.

Got some fresh spotting on the ends of my older leaves. The spottig is a brighter green than the leaf, not quite orange yet (if at all). New and younger growths also turning a brighter green. Some serrations turning rusty. Pics only include the spotting.

I think my main issue comes from my RO reserve water. I had 90 gallons of RO that was 3 months old. It had a lid and was constantly aerated but i guess it wasn't enough. There's a kind of very thin layer of transparent residue that's slightly gooey on the vinyl tubing for the airstone in the RO...

So you think this residue is a form of bacteria? Does it have a negative impact on plants?

I see. Any clue as to what this is growing in here? Prior to filling this reservoir up i had the entire thing cleaned with dish soap then cleaned with bleach then rinsed. Ive literally purge cleaned everything in my rooms.

Yea I've had the water for a week I read most people said their water is fine for 2 weeks at least. So what's the brown stuff?? Take a look at my pics up top f you haven't. Is it the same for you? Is this water dangerous to feed? What does it do?
