I would've left it. Aphids usually like to infest the healthiest plant, I would've just used that plant as your aphid magnet so you could better control the situation on the rest of your plants.

It's not as big of a problem as you think. You could always blast them off with a hose and then make sure you dry the plant as quickly as possible.

Pretty sure you have a black aphid infestation. It's kind of late to spray down with neem. If you can buy a shit load of ladybugs, they will devour those bastards. Or you could try a home remedy like a garlic/hot pepper spray and that shouldnt affect the finished quality of your buds.
