I am still a noob, but I would look for a air ventilated fixture for your light. My tent is 2x3x5 and I run 600w hps but had to turn the output down on the ballast due to heat. A good vented fixture and a good inline fan to pull air out of it and your area would make this perfect imo.

I would like something equal to my 600w hps/mh set up. Not sure the conversion of wattage output to LED

I use a mix of 1 parts each if peat moss, perilite, and vermiculite. Works great for me but I use the fox farm line of nutes and schedule.

I don't have any experience with CFL's but they look good to me. I would suggest lining the walls with Mylar to get more reflected light, but they look great to me...but I am still a noob myself. On my third grow. But I always loose leaves that end up under the canopy.
