is it time for the chop? (with pics)

So yesterday I thought I saw a load of amber trichs, so I pulled them out the grow room ready to be carved up. On closer inspection, there was no amber in sight, it was just the light in the grow room. I had my scissors at the ready, so decided to get rid of nearly all the leaf for the last few...

    Nerdy Questions on Vaping

This may not be quite a newb set of questions, more of a nerd set of questions, but this seemed like the best part of the forum to ask. - I regularly use my vaporiser (Storz and Bickel, Plenty vape) and I'm a convert, it was worth the extra money compared to the rubbish I had used before. It...

is it time for the chop? (with pics)

Get a microscope and see just how not ready they are, I've learnt from this place you can harvest the top half first and the bottom half later

is it time for the chop? (with pics)

Yeah mine are the same, the middles are covered in dust, the tops looking good, but a league below the middles and the bottoms very light green and still growing. Advice is to start by taking the top layer, wouldn't it be best to take the middle layer, then the top and then the bottom? I've...

is it time for the chop? (with pics)

Today nearly all the clear ones have gone cloudy, a very small amount are starting to turn amber, so its nearly time. The buds are still growing without a doubt, if anyone reads this and are not sure to stick or twist, hold fire, patience is key. Here's a question for the better educated, some...

is it time for the chop? (with pics)

The definition in the pics is surprinsgly good, if you click on them you can zoom right in for a closer look. This was just one bud, same one in all the pictures. Overall, they were about 50% cloudy, 50% clear, no sign of any amber/ gold. Quite a few of the hairs are orange, which which if I...

is it time for the chop? (with pics)

Well that was interesting, felt like I was in Hunny I Shrunk the Kids! I liken it to the first time I went snorkeling in the Indian ocean, there is a whole another world out there, a real eye opener when you see it. I managed to get some pictures for you all, they won't be the best examples...

is it time for the chop? (with pics)

Well that certainly cleared it up! :bigjoint: I think I'll start my next thread on if I should prune the plant during veg, just to get a nice civil discussion! Its tough, I can see the logic for all sides of this and until I try it for myself I guess I won't know. My microscope arrived today...

is it time for the chop? (with pics)

I'm actually quite excited to get my loupe tomorrow, how sad is that. I'll try get some magnified pictures, but I'll hold off until at least next weekend, which would make it 8 weeks into flower. I've also looked at the trophy pics on the big Buddha website and they are covered in rust, so I'm...

is it time for the chop? (with pics)

They were fem seeds, so should be OK, unless I stressed them when pruning recently, but they still look pretty female, I think its just a bad picture.

is it time for the chop? (with pics)

That's pretty interesting. For the record I agree with what you say, ultimately its just a weed, like any other plant. My buds are still growing, so while they are, I'm going to leave them alone. I use it mainly to get to sleep anyway, so a more heavy high suits me fine.

is it time for the chop? (with pics)

The top ones have quite a bit of amber, but at the lower end of the same bud there are some new creamy ones that seem to have sprouted overnight. I've got my jewelers loupe on order, arriving Friday, we will see for sure then, can take down on the weekend then.

is it time for the chop? (with pics)

OK cool, I guess if I see them start to grey, get it down. I thought it would be just my eagerness trying to convince myself they are ready. Its not an auto, cheese and kush cross, smells lovely, got a really fruity lemon smell on your fingers.

is it time for the chop? (with pics)

Everywhere I've read about this strain has been a solid 9 weeks, how consistent is breed? Or do conditions overrule genetics?

is it time for the chop? (with pics)

Also, I should point out that isn't a main cola, its one of a few from a topped and tied plant. Also, the lighting plays crazy stuff with my camera, so the pistols are not quite as orange as they appear, everything has an orange tint

is it time for the chop? (with pics)

I'm growing some Big Buddha Silver Cheese, been in flower for just over 6 weeks, expected time is 9-10 weeks. On inspection recently, they looked pretty ready, so I pruned a bit to try squeeze a bit more light into them, they had lost their sparkle a bit recently. Few days later they have...

settle a debate, what makes buds grow?......

I can't do likes via my phone, so please don't think I'm being ignorant. Some great responses, thank you all, I will carry on as I am and try to educate my friend (who has years more growing experience than me!)

settle a debate, what makes buds grow?......

I will attempt a side by side, would have this time, but due to my meddling the plants grew different, one is flat, the other Xmas tree like. I can hear the stampede of the prune army, so I'll try not to start an argument over whether pruning is great or stupid. But I guess the question is...
