I have a trick for the mylar I use velcro and cut like 2 inch strips and stick it to the wall that way you have some playing room and can adjust it slightly.

mirrors acctually absorb light just so you know. Mylar is the most reflective something like 96% reflection and panda and white wall reflect something like 76%.
