It's been working pretty good for me too. I like it. Took a little bit to understand them and how to implement them properly, but once you get it dialed in, they're pretty good.

Two words: Light Penetration. Unless you have CFL's surrounding your entire plant, your going to be missing out on alot of light penetration that HPS/MH/CMH can provide. Your only in the 3rd week. You won't see GOOD bud growth till 5 or 6 weeks into flower.

Usually if you get the proper CFM fan for the area of your tent, you shouldn't need a fan controller. Also depends on how your environment is set up. I use a 400w HPS non-aircooled for veg and flower. Temps get as high as 95+ without my exhaust fan going. But it is a 435 CFM fan in a 4'x2'x5'...
