Yes depending on the size of each plant, my Sour G covers 5 sq ft on its own so I prefer to flower just that plant under 1 light but the yield should definitely reflect on it's size. I mainlined it so it's fairly spread out and since it's a sativa dominant hybrid it had a lot of stretch.

I personally wouldn't, those will just be more bud sites unless you cut 'em off. From what I understand using this method it's to get an even canopy and 8 (or however many you want) main colas instead of just 1, but that's just how I feel about it and others may disagree
