The chemical i was referring to was baking soda. I'm going to be starting out with a ph of 6.5. Every time you fertilize i thought ph went down. I thought that watering without fertilizer would bring it closer to 7. I thought that just using regular water would be better after you get nute...

Well I am correct in assuming that fertilizing lowers the ph. So if the fertilizer is in the soil and the ph is low, then I could probably just start adding regular water until the ph balances out again. Do you think its good to have a bunch of different chemicals in the soil?

And if you can lower the PH after the bud has already appeared, does that mean you can use a PH higher than 7 for sprouting?

The way I see it there aren't too many options for me. This is going to be a PC Grow box. I'd love to do a 36 square foot grow with C02 and humidity.
