Yes, differences in accuracy is what I figured, so I will be satisfied with knowing my new unit takes a higher number. I agree 100% on the low-temp thing. With the temp too low it gets harsh to me, and with it too high it gets different harsh, too hot. There's a sweet spot that is flavorful...

    DIY E-Nail

@budbro18 Hey man thanks for the reply. I have two 100w coils for the Dabvenue which both run nice at ~710F on the Dabvenue. The same coils running on the new box require a setting of at least 200F higher (not quite 300, 910F+) to feel like similar heat. I am running the PID settings Auber gave...

    DIY E-Nail

@torturekiller420 If we are talking about an Auber, mine does not do that. It sounds like your first unit doesn't do that. Check wiring against previous unit, try the new coil with the old unit, verify pinout of new coil (if came with plug) is as expected. Try old coil on new unit. Report your...

    DIY E-Nail

My build was successful, but one thing has stumped me. I have an Electric Dabvenue (enail) that I am happy with at ~ 710 depending on the solvent-less material I am melting. I built my new box with the same CB mic connector and pinout to be able to share my 2 coils between the 2 boxes...

That odd. I'll be attempting to assemble mine this weekend and will report how it goes.

@budbro18 Do the Auber temperature controllers come in their default state ready to wire up and go? Thanks!

    The French Cannoli` Hash Thread

I should clarify most preferably I was talking about dry ice pellets. Most grocers carry dry ice in blocks and I have been unable to find pellets locally. The blocks come in a plastic bag and they crush up into smaller pieces with a hammer or similar.

Will do. For the sake of information, dry ice is solid carbon dioxide at almost -110 deg. F, so it skips the liquid state and it makes "smoke" bubbles, or sublimates, into an inert CO2 gas when put in water. Too much might freeze the water, but I think a smaller bit should chill it adequately.

    The French Cannoli` Hash Thread

Hi Frenchy! I really appreciate the knowledge you're sharing. I've gotten pretty decent with the ice wax method so it was an easy transition. One thing you've helped me realize is the ice is only included to get the water cold and keep it that way. I've contemplated using some dry ice, perhaps...

Just made bubble hash for first time

If you were going to do another run, you're best off to do it the same day right away. I suppose it is possible to make edibles with it, but I always throw that stuff away. That's California for you, plenty of cannabis.

ICE WAX (bubble hash) with Matt Rize

Yes that's true, where would moisture come from if there is none in there in the first place?

ICE WAX (bubble hash) with Matt Rize

After this last batch, I am thoroughly convinced. Matt has experienced and knows you must remove the moisture ASAP, and it must stay cold, for phenomenal results. None of my previous batches can be called ice wax. Again, I have new ideas for the next batch. I will follow up on my other post...

ICE WAX (bubble hash) with Matt Rize

I thought about that but decided against the possibility of condensation forming on the inside of the glass jar.

You are pretty well correct I believe that is what he says, I'm just not yet convinced it goes down like that.

ICE WAX (bubble hash) with Matt Rize

Thanks so much Kalyx and everyone else for the pointers. Each time we do a load, I look for anything we can do differently to be more in accordance with Mr. Rize's instructions. I have been drying in a closet with a fan at about 65% humidity/65 deg. F. I know both are too high, so I have been...

ICE WAX (bubble hash) with Matt Rize

Kalyx et. al., How long do YOU dry the patty before micro-planing? I have experimented with drying it about 24 hours in a cool room in a drying rack as well as drying it on frequently changed paper towels in the refrigerator for an hour or so and many variations in between. I've only ever had...

ICE WAX (bubble hash) with Matt Rize

For what it's worth, my previous batches had greenish water and this one had browner greenish water.

ICE WAX (bubble hash) with Matt Rize

It's not undabbable, but different. My previous batches have had more "ooze" to them. Was that moisture and this is drier, or is it the genetics being different?

ICE WAX (bubble hash) with Matt Rize

My fifth? attempt at ice wax, I just jarred up 3 runs (7m, 7m, 11m) of 7 bags, a 220 (trash), 160 (very minimal, greenish), 120, 90 (discovered last time nothing in it as 90, more like 60, put it under 70, as "60" it had some but less than 70), 70, 38, and 25. In previous washes, I have used...
