The might pop then if they were being kept cold... I have nothing but problems trying to germinate without heat. You also dont want your paper towel to be too wet... just damp no dripping water.

2-3 days is typical, they can take longer. I doubt you drowned the seed either, some people germ seeds just letting them sit in water, I know they can continue to grow after they pop submerged in water. Is the paper towl being kept fairly warm?

I've never worried about making things blacker than where the sun don't shine lol, never had more than 5 or 10 seeds in any given grow, and over the years that is bound to happen regardless... I think a cerrtain percentage of growers believe in light leaks for the same reason some people believe...

It probably wasn't a postal worker, but like you said when something lke this happens it leaves you wondering... As opposed to an official letter. And USPS is only applicable once the package crosses the border. Not sure what the standards for opening mail in the UK or NL tho.

My first order from sannie, the seeds all arrived smashed in such fashion. Im not really sure it was customs. Customs takes them and notifys you. Could be a postal worker that recognized??
