far red LED for flower initiator?

I read the fine print and checked feedback from that ad. Apparently, the customization is limited to where it would not be useful to me. "Infrared (wavelength: 730nm): ... If you really need it for a specific situation, we can add 1 or 2 piece IR LEDs." And, all feedback is listed as...

far red LED for flower initiator?

These are outdoors and if I can speed them up to even finish them there it would be ideal. There is a real chance that the three moved indoors won't be finished by the time I would have to move in the big outdoor plants. It's a matter of available space, and timing.

far red LED for flower initiator?

Reasonable argument, I'll chew on the thought, but in general I prefer building things with good quality components.

far red LED for flower initiator?

Thanks rrog, i actually replied to your thread on this, but with further thought I question the amount of red in that graph relative to the 730ish range. Seems 620-660 or so could be antagonistic to 730nm run at dark. Could work great, I dunno.

far red LED for flower initiator?

The info I have read says that the initiators fool the plants into thinking the night is two hours longer, so starting at about 14 hours of daylight outdoors would be at about the resulting 12hr night threshold. I admit it is experimental, but I have gotten myself in a little bit of a crunch...

After sundown dude. Splifferous has done this and believed his side by side with/without made a difference.

Searched for 730nm and missed the LedEngin 735nm, thanks. Now to find reasonable pricing.

far red LED for flower initiator?

Thanks, yeah found those with google search. Hoping there are good 3w-5w chips for DIY. would rather find name brand rather than "exotic" or unknown Chinese brands. Do they exist?

far red LED for flower initiator?

The way things are going, I'd like to make a flower initiator to use outdoors. The growing season is short here, and it would be great to kick start outdoor flowering to avoid having the mamas freeze. I'd need to start with it right around AUG 1. I'd like to make a rail of about 30 watts of far...

    beginner questions regarding wavelength ratios

I have been in the same kind of design mode, along with many others. These questions have been answered in numerous other threads. There are many opinions and precious little actual side by side controlled grows to prove one thing is superior to another. It seems you kind of have to draw your...

Outdoors with supplemental to induce flowering

That is indeed a general premise. However, read around. There is a lot of info regarding specific wavelengths helping to induce flowering, while allowing more hours/day of light to increase yields, rather than blacking them out 12 hrs/day. Someone is doing this outdoors. I can't find that thread.

Outdoors with supplemental to induce flowering

Sorry to bring this up in this manner, but search isn't working. Someone has an outdoor grow with I think far red/IR supplementation to initiate flowering outdoors. Anyone know where that thread is? I have outdoor plants and it's a really short growing season here, looking for references to...

Cree XM-l Panel... Supplementing 730 and up With Halogen

Related; I have some that plants were vegged indoors for more than a month until close to rootbound in 1 gal containers, then transplanted into 7 and 12 gallon fabric pots, and moved outdoors to the porch for about the last 5 weeks. They have had GREAT growth. The outdoor growing season here...
