More Cobs at lower watts or less Cobs at higher watts

hey cobkits, does color temperature make a big difference? I'm piecing 2 builds, 1 for flower and a separate unit for veg. I was thinking a mix of 2700k and 3000k for the flower tent and a mix of 4000k and 5000k for the veg tent. What would you suggest? Also, am I fine to mix gen 5 and gen 6...

More Cobs at lower watts or less Cobs at higher watts

OK makes sense. I'll just order the Heatsinks from you. Thanks again man

More Cobs at lower watts or less Cobs at higher watts

Sweet. I really appreciate your expert knowledge, and I feel confident in this build now. I'll order the chips probably later today. But lastly, I found some undrilled 140x70 pin Heatsinks from China that are real cheap... Do you need a drill press to drill and tap them or can I use a standard...

More Cobs at lower watts or less Cobs at higher watts

oh sorry, I'm an idiot I'm honestly leaning towards the Gen 5 1212s on your site. Ill save about 50$ in equipment costs after Heatsinks and drivers are equated. I feel like the difference in efficiency is probably not enough to go with 50v cxm22 and the 240h drivers since 12 cobs should...

More Cobs at lower watts or less Cobs at higher watts

Do you know about how many watts that's might pull from the wall?

More Cobs at lower watts or less Cobs at higher watts

How about 4 36v cobs on an hlg-185-1400? Would that setup be less efficient than 3 50v chips on an hlg240h-c1400? And which would pull more from the wall?

More Cobs at lower watts or less Cobs at higher watts

Hey CobKits I've got another question if you don't mind. If a driver is 148v and you run 3 36v cobs does that mean the driver will only run those cobs at 108v, or does it automatically run the cobs higher than 36v to get up to that 148v? And how about for the rated power? If you run 3, 36v...

More Cobs at lower watts or less Cobs at higher watts

Ah OK. I think I'll go luminous with the driver you mentioned as well. Would you recommend 80 or 90 cri? Thanks again for all your help, I really appreciate it.

More Cobs at lower watts or less Cobs at higher watts

OK, is there a big difference between citis and cxm22? And also what advantage would I have running 50v chips instead of 36v?

More Cobs at lower watts or less Cobs at higher watts

Hey thanks a bunch for replying. So what I'm seeing is running 9 Cobs will be plenty sufficient. Do you think you can help me pair a few drivers? I'd like to have 3 Cob's per rail, and a driver on each rail. I'd also like to wire in series instead of parallel. I'm think an hlg-185 c, but...

More Cobs at lower watts or less Cobs at higher watts

So I'm just looking to bounce some ideas off of some of you knowledgeable cats. I want to light a 4x4 flower tent and I'm wondering what the more ideal set up would be. First, how many watts would be ideal? 700? More or less? People say Veros are more efficient when running hotter, so does...

Looking for advice on a new build

How do you feel about 12 chips @50w ea for a 4x4 flower area? ? Would I be better off running them at 60-70w ea?

Looking for advice on a new build

Do you think 50w per cob is a good idea or should I go up to 60-70w? What brand chip would you use for this?

Looking for advice on a new build

So, I built a COB rig for a veg tent a few months back, to replace an hid light, and I've really come to like it. Now I want to replace a couple flower tents with Cobs, but could use some help. I plan on using the rapid led 'substrate' as a frame...

Cob or quantum board for next diy?

Ahh OK that makes sense. I have a blockbuster hood, I'd honestly rather keep it because Im sure I'll run the hids again, probably this winter so I can keep my Temps up. That is a very interesting idea for framing Cob's though. It would probably be better than an aluminum angle frame. Thanks

Cob or quantum board for next diy?

Huh? I'm trying to replace the 600w hid, not add more light to it

Do you use dyna gro? Need some advice..

Thanks for this. I'd like to try running fp and pro tekt for a full cycle, do you have any advice or a schedule on how to mix it for coco dtw? I'm just not sure how much of each and what ppms I should be looking for each week

Cob or quantum board for next diy?

I'm not very familiar with the qbs but do they get decent penetration for flower? Do I need to keep my plants real small if I go with a qb build? Also what's the light spread like per panel? Should I be looking at 4 panels for a 4x4 tent?
