Just so everybody knows, gas lantern routine requires 12 hours on 12 hours off for flowering. Just like any other routine, anything less than this or more than this is not gas lantern routine.

Yes, you do! In the last 30 years of growing I've discovered that not all eyes are on the real prize which is to have a successful grow with the expected yield and not necessarily follow the herd.

I expect 1 pound of bud from this particular grow. It will put 50+g of hash too! This style has always met the projected yield for me. The grow will meet my expectation of yield so what's the drawback? None!

Do those plants looked stretched? They're compact compared to my conventional grow.

If you veg 24/0 or 18/6 your plants never fully recover if you run a light cycle longer than 8 hours during flower. Your plants will use a good part of the stored energy to recover when the lights go off. Wasted energy!

After 1 or two light cycles when flipped to 8/16 the plants fully recover from the previous veg cycle and the amount of excessive light.

This is not gas lantern. Gas lantern is 12/12 during flower. So you're right as far as gas lantern being very stressing.

Not oops. Veg and flower light cycles clearly shoe the difference between the two on my original post. 8 is for flower only. 12 is for the two weeks of veg. More than 12 hours on is required to prevent flowering. That's the only reason why the lights are on for more than 8 hours at a time...

24/0 stresses them. Instead of fullest production they are wasting growing time on recovering from the unnecessary stress.

Not wrong. Some plant tomatoes is in March, some in June. They're both going to get tomatoes. There really is no wrong as long as you're getting the fruit you expect.
