It's not that you can't get the same yield with less plants.. it's about efficiency. If you are doing perpetual or commercial growing, flowering rooted clones is just the fastest way to go.

Best bet is to re-veg them after harvest and then take cuts. Taking a cutting off a flowering plant might result in some weird ass plants, not to mention it will be harder to get them to root.
