Sudden Red Petioles in Flowering: The Root Cause?

Here are comparative photos of the exact same growing shoot/bud from this year, dates noted. The earlier one was when I first noticed clumps of pistils this year. You can see the red petioles have occurred relatively quickly and the bud growth is not very impressive.

Sudden Red Petioles in Flowering: The Root Cause?

Plenty of views and no comments? Anyway, I'm reviewing video from past seasons. This (below) is 09-16 a couple years ago, when the nutrient strategy was simply to use a good soil mix in a prepared hole. I used storebought potting soil, manure and sand same as this year. Same spot too, different...

Sudden Red Petioles in Flowering: The Root Cause?

I'm trying to get to the bottom of this issue which suddenly popped up; red petioles (leaf stems) appearing as soon as flowering started. I see much of the "conventional" wisdom suggests this is a genetic trait, however I'm not so sure about that. (in my case/my plants anyway) As soon as my...

    Buds getting too BIG.

Don't sweat it man. Not intended to be an an accusatory or overly sarcastic remark. Try wikipedia page for Exif data to learn more. Hope to see the pics.

    Buds getting too BIG.

You can use a photo editing program to remove the Exif/meta data or rerender in some format other than jpg. Check the properties or file saving/rendering preferences /options whatever in your program. You can also get the standalone ImageInfoToolkit III program/application free to edit or...

    Deficiency or burn? pics

Here is a larger view. The problem area highlighted. The other branch/top to the right also had the same appearance. But none of the rest of that plant, nor the others. I think they look OK aside from that.

    Deficiency or burn? pics

Re: Has the plant in question perked up any since aerating? I think so. They lost the droopiness. Coloration has not worsened. Bud growth looked minimal though. That one plant gets the worst light of them all. I untied the branches so they could reach more light. They were all...

    Deficiency or burn? pics

I've aerated with long skinny tines. All of them not just the one. Also went ahead and gave all them a treatment of epsom salt and water at 1 teaspoon/gallon. I notice that problem is only present on 2 branches/tops. Is there any reason to really worry or do anything about the issue any...

    oo naturaaal only nuts

Not sure if it did or not. It's been a long time but I recall it had a somewhat hashy taste. It was good. Back then we called it "homegrown" (often with a sneer). My how times have changed.

    oo naturaaal only nuts

Best thing I ever used was the heads and guts from about 2 bluegills per plant buried way underneath prepared holes. The [4] plants got so big and bushy you couldn't see the barn behind them. I shit you not. No additional care was given to them other than plant & return for the picking. When I...

    Deficiency or burn? pics

Thanks. I have just the implement of destruction for that. That clay soil was a blessing all summer long though. Hardly had to water at all during the drought, they never wilted in the slightest. I wish it never ended now. LOL

Just to clarify, it's in it's own hole. Edit: re: aereate OK thanks man will do.

    Deficiency or burn? pics

yea this just started following like 3 rain days in one week. The other plants right next to it don't show the same problem (just those damned reddening petioles) Bad part here is the surrounding soil is somewhat clayish so drainage may be an issue. (the 5 gallon sized hole it's in was prepared...

    Deficiency or burn? pics

This just started. I'm guessing magnesium deficiency. But if I'm wrong someone please help me out? I doubt I've gone overboard on fertilizer. Any help appreciated.

Tired of people say MG is not for Cannabis. I'm going to shut all of you up.

MG is basically Epsom salts? Where did you see that? Is that something listed on the box or MG website?

You might make sure you have a good electrical ground also.

    Jobe's Vs Miracle gro

Anyone have an opinion or experience similar? The Jobe's doesn't work as fast and there's not much time left. Just as most recommend half strength for chemicals/MG etc, wondering of there are any rules of thumb for use of the granular organic used a top dressing during budding? here's a quick...

    Jobe's Vs Miracle gro

I decided to just go with the Jobe's for two reasons. I can't control the rain (and thus the watering) and the jalepenos I used Jobe's on came out about 3x the normal ssize and tons of them. But now the question, How many times/how often you think I should use it? These things may be only...

    better nutes?

I used the all purpose version once at about half strength this season as a "quick fix" when early in growth leaves got that candyass light green color and were getting smaller instead of larger. It did the trick. Like you, I'm curious as to whether the bloom booster in particular really has...

    better nutes?

I'm not sure which would be better but after doing some reading I think they should start spelling "nutes" as "newts" (as in eye of.. ) because it has a lot more hocus pocus and conjecture elements than nearly anything else I've seen. I'm not sure the plants can read the labels or brand names
