No, I didn't want to create any kind of barrier between the two plants. I wanted them to be able to easily bond and root. I used a twist tie at the base above the root riot cube, and they are snuggly fit into it so they can grip and spread out.

Yeah, grafting is where I got the idea because I remembered the topic in 7th grade haha.

I took a razor and made a normal cutting as with clones, but I basically sliced the bottom of both plants in half, and then faced the two cut halves together as if to make one solid trunk.
