I live in the country and I have a lot of room to build sheds/rooms for experiments and whatnot.
I have a shed split into two rooms - one is the nursey/mother room - other side is flower/dry room. Behind this shed is another room, slightly bigger and is my veg room.
I have a total of about 70 plants. ranging from sprouts to one flowering Santa Cruz.
Since I started growing I've been severely interested in keeping males separated and using them to cross breed plants. I even want to make a stress chamber where I can force clones/seeds to become male so I can use them for breeding. Basically it would contain low/high humidity, lower/higher than ideal temperatures, minimal watering, nutrient deficiencies, etc - I will keep them alive but stressed so I get herm/males.
Anyways I recall learning about splicing fruit trees and whatnot so I figured, why not?
I took one healthy Blueberry #4 clone, and one healthy Purple Dragon clone. They both had intense roots so it kind of hurt to cut them out =(
What I did was act like a normal clone on each plant, but I cut an extra long angled slit on one side of both plants, and then grafted them together using Clonex rooting gel, and placed firmly in a root riot starter cube.
Here's a few results I expected to get:
1) Dead plants
2) Plants will fuse and I'll end up with two separate plants growing normally in one medium.m Bud will either be crosses, or totally separate.
3) Plants will fuse and I'll end up with three plants, either all similar bud, or 2 different types on each side with one new growth in the middle which is a combination of the plants.
4) Plant turns into a hermie or male
5) Plants produce no bud
I did some Googling and found an old article and someone claimed it won't produce bud, so I figured that'd be one of the outcomes.
It also seems like I'm on of the few people who are growing just to have fun and play around with it.
I will post pics up later, and I also have some new amazing pictures of the LED usage between vegging and flowering plants.
