MH light shutting off, HPS fine

So, I just went and got another MH bulb. I don't wanna jinx it, but it has been on for about 3 hours now. It's possible this was just a strange coincidence of my first MH bulb going out, and then purchasing another bad MH bulb right after... leading me to an incorrect diagnosis. You guys helped...

MH light shutting off, HPS fine

Interesting. Well since MH bulbs are relatively cheap, I might just try a couple out. Because the ballast seems to work fine with my HPS.

MH light shutting off, HPS fine

Yeaa I know I don't 'need' it. I'm kinda comin off a high with my second harvest being much better than my first, was hopin to keep that up but this kinda put a hamper on that lol. I was curious if having one work and the other not work was a common problem. But if not, it might just be a...

MH light shutting off, HPS fine

I guess it's possible the new bulb they just sent me was already bad. It's just weird that it's both the MH's lol. And yes my ballast is MH compatible. I've run it for two grows now without any problems. The first bulb ran first two fine, now its not working. And the brand new one doing exact...

MH light shutting off, HPS fine

I have had a 250w ballast with 250w MH and HPS light for two successful cycles. For this third cycle though, I noticed that my MH light was off when it should've been on. The MH light is turning on... and then turning off very shortly after, and the bulb will feel hot even though it's only been...

    Any ideas?

Just a little update. Back right. Looks like the spots stopped spreading since I started cal-mag+nute feed. It's looking great. Thanks again everyone for help. Learned a good bit here.

Stunted growth on one out of 3

Just a little update. Back left was runt. One in front was growing like crazy so I bent it over to match height of other two. Back right I topped. Looks like I'll have all 3 about even canopy. Thanks for those that convinced me to keep.

    Any ideas?

Oh wow this was really helpful. That makes sense because literally even the smallest drop of pH down would reduce distilled water from 9 to around 5. My plants and I both thank you for the tips.

    Any ideas?

Just put in some fox farm cal-mag. This is what the top middle leaves look like now. I'll update if I see improvement. Or even if I just see this stop spreading. Hopefully this works. Thanks for everyone's input! You guys are always great

    Any ideas?

Hmm ok, the local nursery didn't have calmag and I noticed this was high in calcium and magnesium and only $5. I thought it might serve a similar purpose. I guess I'll make the trek to the nicer place next city over. Appreciate the warning.

    Why flush with deficiency?

Ah, that makes sense. It sounds like a failsafe. I don't mind a little risk here and there, Ill try to add what's needed.

    Any ideas?

Ok so I just picked some of this up from local garden nursery. I'm going to try it this evening when lights come on with some water. I believe I'm sold on the calcium deficiency consensus here. Which means I might have hastily chopped off some leaves from plant sadly. I'll update with progress

    Why flush with deficiency?

So I just diagnosed a calcium deficiency in one of my plants. Upon doing a little research, many places said to flush soil and then add missing nutes. I'm more than happy to simply follow directions with something I don't fully understand. But my question is why flush with deficiency? I...

    Any ideas?

Interesting. Well my tap water was around 600 last I checked. And the one time I used it on my last grow I had hard water deposit buildup on leaves. How do you feel about spring water? And how do you feel about distilled water mixed with fert?

    Any ideas?

Also, looks like my soil should have calcium in it. And if I had accidentally flushed it, I would think I might be deficient in a few other nutes too. Seeing as I haven't added any fert yet. . Adding cal mag if it doesn't need it could hurt the plant right? Could still be worth a try if this...

    Any ideas?

2nd node still appears good, now spots showing up on top node leaves as shown here. Rest of plant looks healthy. Tap water where I am at is extremely high ppm hard water. I used it once in my previous first grow and had hard water buildup on leaves almost immediately. So I try to stick to only...

    Any ideas?

I am using steam distilled water store bought. And it does kind of look like that. It wasn't my first guess because they are about week two since moving to final containers in amended soil so soil should still be fertile. Unless there is lockout in the soil. But I would think that would affect...

    Any ideas?

Yes the first node right above cotyledons was infected so I took them off. The second node was and still is fine. Third node became like images show over a couple days. And I just answered the above questions if you want to check my other two replies here.

    Any ideas?

I water when they need water, using knuckle in soil and keeping track of container weight. I water to about 10% runoff and always pH water to around 6-6.5. I use distilled water until amended soil runs out of nutes then will switch to spring water with fert. I started seeds in fox farm happy...
