    Considering my first DWC grow

starting around week 3-4 you will start having to PH more often than once a week, but you should be checking everyday. In the later stages of flowering you will need to top off/ change nutes more often even with a 20L res. My ladies drink 1-2 gallon a day in late stage flowering. DWC is much...

    Continual Slime in DWC

Whoa, she's def a monster! I think RDWC might be the next move. The sound of a chiller plus a pump has to be quieter than my massive air pump. EC meter is def on the list when I get a few extra dollars. I knocked the slime out by dosing with the physan 20 and letting it run for 12 hours. Dumped...

    Continual Slime in DWC

as long as the roots don't fall apart when given a slight tug it is probably just nute stain. Good luck with your grow. :)

    Continual Slime in DWC

Good news, Physan 20 knocked the slime right out! Even after cleaning everything thoroughly before I still found dead slime/residue on the sides of the bucket after running it for 12 hours. Goes to show no matter how clean you think you got it there are little bits of slime and spores...

55F-58F tap water direct to res for changeouts..too cold?

I find a little drooping when i change the rez with cold water ( below the mid 50's). Nothing that doesn't perk back up within a few hours. Might be different for larger plants, dunno.

    Continual Slime in DWC

I'm using a Bacillus inoculate already in my tea (Great White). I think you are right about the imbalance. I Physan 20'd the whole setup and brewing some fresh tea now. Going to innoculate again tomorrow.

    Continual Slime in DWC

I'm using filtered water from the store and then inoculate the rez which have tap water. Usually the tap water runs for a day with nutes before I dose to let the chlorine evaporate out. I just switched to a 24hr brew with less molasses and see if that helps. I'm also trying to use a air stone...

    bennies 'v' sterile 'v' nothing

I I had/am having a similar issue. I finally got the roots to come out white but now they get slimed when I touch the water. If they are at an early stage (no roots coming out of the net pot) try removing the hydroton and giving em a h202 solution dip and put them in new hydroton. My problem...

    Continual Slime in DWC

Yea i learned that the hard way the first time, I tried to clean it all out had to ditch all the hydroton and replant. Is there a better medium to user besides hydroton? I gave it a big dose of tea before 12 hours before I cleaned it and it really ate up the slime. I'm cleaning out all the...

    Continual Slime in DWC

Shirk, thanks this is really informative. Do you suggest running this till the infection is gone or is this something you would run continually till harvest? Chruch, I switched to House and Garden Aqua Flakes after I found out that FN Grow has some organics in it. I'm currently feeding it...

    Continual Slime in DWC

Yea I check twice a day to pull off the dead roots because I know it's causing more slime cause they just love the dead roots. I'm getting new white ones out of the sides of the net pot all the time but as soon as they hit the water they get slimed even if there is none in the water and then...

    Continual Slime in DWC

I'll have to check that out. I don't have an EC meter but I stated that I started with 1/4 strength FloraNova Grow nutes. Also the molasses is in the tea for brewing not added to the rez directly. I tried sterile with out any tea (molasses) and with it, neither helped the slime.

    Continual Slime in DWC

Also I get foam when brewing the bennie tea but after adding it to the rez the water doesn't form any type of film or foam. Maybe I'm brewing the tea wrong? Even at 1 cup per gallon of rez water the slime is still able to take a hold.

    Continual Slime in DWC

Hey guys sorry for the lack of update. The tea was working fine for about a week. I grew nice long roots out of the bottom but after about a week and a half of giving the tea (changed rez once) the slime came back. I cleaned and drained the water and washed the buckets again and have had even...

Getting ready to start first Hydro Bubbleponics Grow

You want to fill up the water to just under the net pots so that the roots can grow into the water. the tote is difficult sometimes cause the roots will grow together and if you have a problem with one plant its hard to separate them, but i've seen it work too so don't get discouraged by that...

    Continual Slime in DWC

On the upside I woke up this morning to tons of roots coming out of the netpot! Downside, although I went three days without any signs of slime I noticed two fuzzies attatched to the tips of two roots which were the deepest in the water. When i rub my finger down the roots it removes a greenish...
