I would not think pulling air from the attic to supply the A/C would be a good idea. Once summer hits it would not work out so well. I would let it pull from the room or another place like a window.

Soil buffers PH. The water coming out of the soil is not an indication of soil PH. Forget about the PH of the run off and read the plant.
