    Grow equipment

Plenty of sites to choose from ..... New & Used equipment. Digital Ballast & Bulbs use more electricity, bulky & give off more heat, also I've experimented with combination of digi ballast w/fluorescent and LED's with good results. Straight LED's ... light weight, less electricity, less heat...

Growing hydro in 100 degree temps indoor possible??

Closet very confined area usually; LED lights less heat. Some HID fixtures have 4",6",8" inch ports to attach ducting intake and exhaust (exhaust as in hot air out ...outside the area best). That' more work and expense.

Growing hydro in 100 degree temps indoor possible??

Re: Hydro and high temps, reservoir tank & bucket water with nutrients can go bad even faster with a mag-drive pump running 24/7... generating heat inside reservoir.

Growing hydro in 100 degree temps indoor possible??

Hi, Grow indoors... as in a bedroom, garage shed, etc. Add silicon solution to feeding program, helps with heat, cold, drought stress. Consider swapping too all LED in summer, back to HID during winter. Swamp cooler possibility? Cool down temps of roof//walls outside via deflection screen (IR/UV...

    Colloidal Silver Spray Outdoors

Howdy folks, Pollen Giver: I've tried both with success, sprayed tree(s) 2-3 times for 1 week before going into bloom & sprayed at the start of bloom... continue spraying until a noticeable change like nanners. Stop spraying, the tree will go into a "gender bending period" release pollen & die...

    Colloidal Silver Spray Outdoors

Hi, I've been thru some learning curves on feminized seeds.... I did not use colloidal silver but know somebody who did, didn't work, this could be a miss-trial? What did work (next attempts) was STS a two part chemical mix combined into one concentrate to be used full strength or 9 to 1...

    Strange smell and drooping buds

A bucket system with clay (hydroton) balls for medium & venturi (air pump & tubbing) for drip feeding. Are the Clay balls turning green...if they are, that's algae which will turn your nutrient solution sour (acidic) quicker; what happens then is nute lock out. Does the root system look...

    question about feeding

The organic food said above is ok to mix-up..when trees turn more green again (not dark green) back-off the nitro guano and add some calcium/magnesium (CalMag or SensiCal Mg) to each watering and repeat until symptoms (rust/brown spots) improve. There is a "Deficiency Chart" posted here to help...

Are drip systems really tha good..?

I like drip system... my own design. Sturdy, easy to get to trees, over sized feed tubing (because they can clog), evenly spaced holes, simple setup/tear down; few draw backs (like flooding, smaller compact tree's) more water/nutes, more attention to project. Don't be sold on something that you...

    New room in the makings.

Wow tight space. Think it through carefully, Moisture, water run-off, drainage, ventilation-in, heat exhaust-out, odor control, etc. Also, drape & staple some thick reflective plastic across those walls to seal-in all that fiber insulation ......itchy stuff man.

How do I handle the summer heat?

Every area to be used for a project needs "planning" best as possible with the equipment on hand or to be purchased. Heat is a big problem and triggers many other problems (like bacteria growth in reservoir for hydrow). I would suggest this, find another closet door (or use the one in place)...

    How important is....?

If the trees look healthy with your routine...right on. If and when concerns arise, test the run-off see where you stand on PH & TDS. Every Book I've read thorough the years state to stay within the best feeding range (6.5 PH for soil, 1400 ppm & can go above that [1800 ppm] but not for a long...

First shot using teas from worm compost high in P and K for BLOOM BOOSTER side/side

Trees look fine....Although, at some point i would line the walls with reflective matererial make that light bounce. Worm bins are fun, not much to them drainage & ventilation holes, periodic scrap feeding and some medium rotation.

First shot using teas from worm compost high in P and K for BLOOM BOOSTER side/side

Worm tea is awesome. There many recipes and ready made kits to try. Check out youtube and keep books handy on the subject. One tip on making tea.....the PH is usually a bit high after brewing, so I lower the PH of clean water to about 5.0 when it is done it will about 6.5 to 6.7 ready for use...
