    Led Users Unite!

if you drive higher watters softer as you would drive a standard 3watter, you gain more photons than a standard 3watter if you drive them hard, more watts yes, less diodes yes .... but more photons? No (fewer exceptions) RHIno never answered my tech questions anyway I suppose I am not a...

First time grower experimenting with cheap LEDs

unfortunately things are not going to bulk up greatly for the "photons"/energy those leds put out! but the best way of finding out is from yourself, so well done on you you might want to look into more powerful leds for the future great vay of keeping mothers or vegging, perhaps

    Grow Project : Sun_burns Every Summer !

Everyone seeks peace and harmony, because this is what we lack in our lives. From time to time we all experience agitation, irritation, dishar*mony. And when we suffer from these miseries, we don't keep them to ourselves; we often distribute them to others as well. Unhappiness permeates...

    Almost Shopping Time.... [DIY LED]

You are not going to experience what you think you are with driving at different currents, what you say it's more to do with lenses degree angle. Also, driving the xte hard is making them loose greater efficiency than one thinks from the datasheets. They are still drivable hard but maybe you...

    Almost Shopping Time.... [DIY LED]

The best hyper/deep red to date is rebel ES 360mW @350! (Highest bin) At least on paper... Its The One I would possibly drive harder that 600mA .. Look at data sheets there's a few different points compared to other makes. View angle would be 100-120

    Almost Shopping Time.... [DIY LED]

I wouldn't know of a red driven at 1A! The ledengin you have? Couldn't you have a separate driver for the reds (between 500 and 600 mA or 700 if you like) In that case you have good rebels or osrams for the hyper reds and cree xpe for the reds. But you prob know this? Widest viewing...

Multichip LED, Remote Phosphor - Guess who it is.

SSL are great! But xte is a newer territory; if you look at graphs you can see that cooling them nicely archives better flux that the 85degrees (at which they'd work anyhow for es. If your fan fails given you actively cool your array) You can drive them nicely up to 1100ma (I wouldn't go higher...

Multichip LED, Remote Phosphor - Guess who it is.

The xte are the best whites to date! Look at the graphs.. They behave nicely even at 85degrees but the best part is if you run them cool the luminous flux increases as no other whites... They are a step ahead for sure! I got some to play with myself eheh. There's also many choices of temps...

    Plant photonics - perpetual grow - - - (hopefully:)

I would agree with you about the best choice for Europeans, one thing doesn't impress me though is the heatsink area... Mind you got powerful good fans on the plantphotonics (german made) and they should be not very loud I guess but a owner will better tell
