Where can you buy pre bundled cob kits

100$ aint what it used to be. The kits start around 400$ for a 4 cob kit. You could buy a light engine (single cob passive) for 60-80 if I'm not mistaken from cobkits.com? @CobKits ?

    Tex's perpetual shed

I hear ya, not a big fan of hydro though I've done DWC, ebb flow, and top feed coco before, but just always go back to soil. I typically end up with some leaf burn with hydro, and get lazy on the ph and shit. This recycled soil I'm using produces green, vigorous, healthy plants, and its more...

    Tex's perpetual shed

Cool, I think the veg lighting may be my next investment then. Try to grow some bigger bushes for the next round. I've got about another week before the next round goes into flower. Slow growing over here, but it'll be more exciting in a few weeks. Btw, I'm running a propane burner at about...

    Tex's perpetual shed

Thanks Sixstring, I'm so keen on a full grow with cobs. I'm thinking about using some citizen chips for a veg light for the next addition. Does anyone in here use these cobs for veg? https://cobkits.com/product/citizen-clu048-1212-90cri-choice-of-color-temps/ Thinking about doing 4-6 Cobs at...

    Tex's perpetual shed

In the last pic of the Veg room, you can see the burple emanating from the top. It's a 300w htg supply burp from 2010, I notice a couple rows of chips going out on it the other day so it will have to get replaced with cobs soon. Funny thing is this is the only light I've achieved 1g/watt with.

    Tex's perpetual shed

What up Y'all, been on hiatus for a bit from these forums, but I couldn't resist getting back into it. I decided to convert to cob about 6 months ago and finally went for it. All opinions, ideas, photos are welcomed in this thread. This is my first fixture, cxb 3590 3500k x 8. Running off a...

    CXB 3590 3500K build questions

Dimensions are 36''x28'', I used 1/8'' thick 3/4'' angled aluminum. Cut the frame with a miter-saw with metal cutting blade, drilled the holes to mount the heat sinks with a 3/16'' bit to account for any error and make putting together fairly easy. I tried with a 9/64'' but was off on a couple...

Yup I second this. I'm just starting to make the switch to cob myself, but it is expensive, so is my weed:blsmoke:

    Lighting help. . Please

As far as cost the 600/750 DE are great, 429$ good for a budget. But they do put out a lot of heat. You could run 1 in a 4x4 or 5x5 tent with a carbon scrubber up top sucking air out and vents open on the bottom and maybe 1 oscillating fan for the canopy. As long as you can keep the heat down in...

    CXB 3590 3500K build questions

Yea man, I'm not trying to cover a 4x4 with this light. I need to cover 4'x15' of canopy, I'm just slowly transitioning. I think 12 would be perfect for a 4x4 though. Could probably cover a 4x4 with 8 if you drive them harder.

@GroDank101 I have the anodized pin fin heat sinks from Cutter. Already drilled and tapped and ready to rock. I just need to pick up the angled aluminum and get to work now:grin: Nice build man, Looks like you've got plenty photons there for a 4x4:clap:. I think I may sandwich this first build...

    CXB 3590 3500K build questions

Thanks @CobKits this is the info I needed. I like this build and will probably follow through with this @tomate. Seems like it will give a good spread with the dimensions being 3'L x---x---x --x---x-- 2'W to cover about a 3x4' area. Hopefully I can get started on the build this...
