Growing 30 feet up in a hollow tree?

I've been toying with the idea of running a small hose down the inside of the hollow tree. It's the logistics of the thing that I need to wrap my head around.

Growing in the The Wardrobe with the OLD Man

FIMing is awesome with a ScrOG. A couple of selective extra pinches and you have a nice dense low canopy.

Space Buckets, 130w CFL + 6x3w LED. SpaceJill, LSD and Gigabud!

I have 5 of them going but it's tough for me to schedule the harvests evenly. Sometimes they need an extra week, sometimes they're done early and I don't like to sit around on an empty bucket so I'll do a longer flowring sativa and then 4 months later, that throws off the schedule again and on...

    Jock Horror Auto

The tiny gnats are probably fungus gnats. You can let the top 2 inches or so of soil get good and dry and they'll die off. Bottom water for a couple of weeks and keep the dead foliage cleared out and they should all die out. You can also put 2 inches of pearock on top of the soil. I have heard...

    First Grow need help

Looks like a decent bulb but I am not an LED man. Grab a couple 42 watt CFLs and be done with it. I veg under lower wattage than I flower, I think that's fairly common. At 4 weeks I bump up the lights by about 50% more wattage. I too run microgrows, but never less than around 130 watts per plant...

    Wtf is going on !!

He's right, you can keep that 250 probably 12 to 18 inches away. Vinegar goes down and baking soda goes up. You probably already invested in those...

Growing 30 feet up in a hollow tree?

Your right but just trying to have common since who wants to climb a tree 30ft to water check for bugs add nutes etc and do it everyday without neighbors seeing. That's why I suggested pulley no one will see it unless you look at it while people are around I do for one... This is more of a...

Growing 30 feet up in a hollow tree?

No real goals, just an experiment I guess. I am pressed for space and can only do microgrows. www.spacebuckets.com if anyone else is pressed for space. The hollow limb idea sounded decent and I am just looking for advice or ideas to make it go easier.

Growing 30 feet up in a hollow tree?

I am not in a legal state and sunlight is free. It seems safer 30 feet off the ground than in my garden.

Growing 30 feet up in a hollow tree?

I'm fully aware of the nitrogen robbing, this is why I used a nitrogen hot soil. Hopefully by the time the nitrogen is depleted I will be into flower anyways. The whole limb is hollow and I have soil only in couple foot section so it has plenty of drainage. The watering schedule is yet to be...

Growing 30 feet up in a hollow tree?

That's a better idea but you could still see it from the ground. Foliage growing among more foliage is far less likely to attract attention than a 3 gallon pot balancing in a tree crotch. I see your point but my tree isn't right for a planter. It already has hollow limbs so why not try to...

Growing 30 feet up in a hollow tree?

. It's in my back yard and I live in town. A pulley and rope system with a bucket hanging from it isn't very stealth

Growing 30 feet up in a hollow tree?

I don't really know how much nitrogen will be consumed by the decaying wood, but I am hoping "enough"... top dressing is a great idea. I probably won't water them at all unless we have a dry spell or if I can see them wilting from the ground. I have the Buddha seeds 10 pack that I was planning...

Growing 30 feet up in a hollow tree?

I have a decent sized Canadian Maple tree in my back yard and some of the upper limbs are hollow. About 2 feet from the hollow knot holes I drove a few big nails through the side and into the hollow then dropped some wire mesh on top and loaded the holes with a couple gallons of a nitrogen hot...

Do nothing with autos? No cropping/LST/etc.... True?

No pinching, topping, FIMing, transplanting, cloning, supercropping, nothing that stresses or slows growth. LST is almost a must for a decent crop. Just lightly bend the stems when they're still young and flexible so light can get to all parts of your plant more evenly while maintaining a more...

    Seed company's vote your favourite

You're thinking about scarification, a technique used to help seedlings break the seed coat. Just soak them in Reverse Osmosis (RO) water until they sink and stick em in the dirt. Genetics have progressed, not regressed. In my experience, old seeds have lower germination rates and less robust...

    Charcoal filter funnel

I have zero data to back this up, but I would rather just run it through a piece of cheese cloth or a fine screen. The charcoal might filter out a lot of the micronutrients that rain water is known for, thus making it less beneficial over RO water. Just my two cents.

    ShLUbY's Garden

An easy way to check that would be with a lux meter. I have one and I am by no means a professional grower. A 5 minute test could easily test the light loss from the glass.
