Check out the grow faq, or try searching... theres a ton of threads just like yours. But uh to answer the question, if you're a few weeks into flowering you should either see a set of ball like things at the nodes if it is MALE, if it is FEMALE... you should be seeing a couple little hair...

I just bought some hyponex for my grow, .75, and from what I see it was waaaay better than what I had before. Just make sure you feel the bag and squish it and stuff before you buy it.. seems like good soil to me

I just checked my plant and I have some lower large leaves that seem to be blocking some lower branches trying to come up, not essentially blocking but making it harder.. my question is, is it okay to snip those leaves? or just let it do its own thing?
