this is a matter of opinion and technic. more light is always good, so it does hold true, but many books say to trim the lower branches to allow better air circulation and focus the plant more on the parts that will produce bud. in either case, don't trim to much.

you sound like you have a clue of what you're doing, just need more experience. just keep in mind, safety first. not sure if you're using tape only for your connections, but you should use wire nuts/wire caps, or crimp on couplings. wiring lights in parallel, you just match up the wire colors...

they pay $10 for clones on that show weeds. not helpful at all being as it's fiction, but it's an idea of what the range might be. people are talking about reveging plants all the time on the forum. I say it's a sloppy way to start off a few month long project with money invested. my 2 cents.
