A dimmable ballast gives the best of both worlds. I use a 1000w dimmable Lumaek. 600w, 750w, 1000w or even 1100w MH, HPS or Dual Spectrum lamps. Personally I will not change to LED's until the technology is far more stable. You don't get the same answer twice, when asking about LED's.

NB After deciding the used filter was dead I connected a bran new 8" Carb Filter (A budget model from FANTRONIX) I repeated the same test and my friend could STILL smell WHEN I sprayed near the filter (in another room) and he could also tell, approx. WHAT I was spraying or the smell of SMOKE...
