    Reservoir heaters/aquarium heaters

I am considering buying an aquarium heater to warm the water/nutrient solution in my Wilma res. The advice on the heaters says: "USE 1 watt of power to every 1 litre of water" but the 140litres capacity of my res varies from a maximum of 140 (very rarely this full) to a minimum of 15 to 30...

What TEMPERATURE for the LIQUID in my HYDRO RESERVOIR?

I have 2 x Wilma's, both are 140litres capacity, but it is unusual for more than 100 litres of liquid to be in one and. more usually, less than 60lts. I am considering using an aquarium heater to warm the water/nutrient mix. I have the irrigation pump on the same timer as the lights so...

    Help me develop my idea

Just been to look at POST 15... VERY COOL IDEA. If it could actually be increased and have adjustable, bendy/stretchy arms emerging from a main pole that hung DOWN from the roof... Position each individual lamp wherever you'd like it. I think this is a product that would have a market?

    Cuttings at DAY 12.

Thanks guys. I propagate in rooting sponges I then VEG in 6.5litre pots (Wilma 20) and I have 18litre pots for FLOWER (Wilma Big 9). It's the part about transplanting from the 6.5lt Pots to the 18lt Pots that I'm apprehensive about. Wilma's are a type of NFT system. I don't have...

    Ventilation with Wing Reflector Question

Pretty much what hiddenkoncept had to say except: I don't think you need more light, you simply need to reduce the area of your growroom 4 x4 is a good size for 600w AND a perfectly adequate size for 4 plants. (I grow 9 plants in a 4 x 4). You could use mylar curtains to partition the area...

First grow, looking for complete kit please give advices.

A dimmable ballast gives the best of both worlds. I use a 1000w dimmable Lumaek. 600w, 750w, 1000w or even 1100w MH, HPS or Dual Spectrum lamps. Personally I will not change to LED's until the technology is far more stable. You don't get the same answer twice, when asking about LED's.

DAY 12 FLOWER (in Digitzed Photography).

Here are some close ups of my girls upper stems. It's their 12th day of 12/12 Flower and they are starting to appear quite 'spiky'. (As though a crazy amount of tiny new leaf clusters had erupted all over). I'm assuming that it's the beginning of BUDS.... but, as this is my first ever crop...

    Cuttings at DAY 12.

As a sequel to my previous thread - CUTTINGS AT DAY 5 - I decided to post some pics of my cuttings on their 12th day in the propagator. On two of them I can clearly see tiny root ends breaking through the rooting sponges. I have 24 cuttings and room for 20 plants in 6.5lt pots of clay pebbles...

    Advanced Nutrients and "grower level"

So many factors affect pH ad EC readings. I just cannot see the point of flying blind, when a test can taken so easily...?? Even if the nutes are pH perfect, if my clay pebbles carry dust, it mixes with the water/nute mix and sends pH levels bouncing all over! Atmospheric contaminants affect...

CARBON FILTERS - How To Test If They're Still Effective?

NB After deciding the used filter was dead I connected a bran new 8" Carb Filter (A budget model from FANTRONIX) I repeated the same test and my friend could STILL smell WHEN I sprayed near the filter (in another room) and he could also tell, approx. WHAT I was spraying or the smell of SMOKE...

    Is Cuba that bad?

The US has bullied Cuba forever...! In 1946 Lucky Luciano was released after 10 years of a 50 year sentence and deported to Italy. Months later he showed up in Havana and started to make it his base. (A famous Mob Conclave took place where, it is believed, the decision to kill Bugsy Seigel was...

    Is Cuba that bad?

The thing that gets me most is that most of the 'free worlds' elected government dare not be seen to have the Dalai Lama has a guest for fear of Chinese disfavour... They're going to be the next power - I cannot imagine what kind of humanitarian standards we can expect.... I also hate Capitalism...
