One COB light for veg and flower

Did you go with the high cri? Those look tempting to try out with the higher bin available now.

    The far red thread

Two separate timers. I just set it to come on a minute before lights out to make up for the timer drifting throughout the flower cycle. If they get to far apart I adjust them a little.

    Chinese Drives

Looks like a good veg driver. With a handful of cree XM-L2's (50-100v worth) it would be a good starter veg light that could easily be upgraded with a better driver down the road.

They should be fine how you have them, keep an eye on the side with the driver for heat issues. If that side is constantly hotter or heat becomes an issue inside the tent you could easily mount the driver outside of the tent without changing much

    The far red thread

I run my far reds on a small china driver hooked up to a digital timer. Same concept as the cobs just different components and light schedule

One COB light for veg and flower

With 48" of height the crees will be fine on a dimmable driver. I'm running two cxa3070 in a 20"x11"x29" and it's working out great. I use the 3000k and they work great for veg and flower. The ability to dim is the most important aspect imo.

Are you going to mainline the random? I've had great success with that training technique when growing from seed.

    New build problem

Look up how to measure current (amps) and check to see what the output is. I'm guessing it's not putting out the 1750ma it is supposed to. Good luck working out a return, you will probably have to pay return shipping and wait for another driver. I've never dealt with straight road personally.

    LEC - Light-Emitting Ceramic

Just order your heatsink to fit your reflector opening and seal the edges with aluminum tape. Make sure to leave room for the fins but dont be afraid to bend/cut to make it fit. Should be simple if your order from heatsinkUSA as they have multiple profiles and will cut to your measurement.

    LEC - Light-Emitting Ceramic

You could build an air cooled enclosure over the heatsink of the cobs to remove the heat without covering the actual cob with glass.

    Cxb3500 build for 3x3

In a planted tank? I like to breed guppies myself and have been keeping tanks since I was a kid. I even ran a micro aquaponics system for one grow cycle but it was a pita. I really enjoy reading and learning on these forums and most of the info I pass along is just from other posts I read but...

    Cxb3500 build for 3x3

After you drill and send a screw into the heatsink you may need to flatten it again. I got little bulges around the screw holes and needed to sand them out before actually mounting the cob/holder.

Few questions that i cant seem to answer. 400 watt grow space

Check out the mainlining thread here on riu. It has some pretty good training techniques that make for a good strong plant.

    4x4 cxb3590 first time grower

I like to use organic soil and blumats. Great taste, quite and easy to tend to. I swear my plants have learned how to milk the blumats sensors lol
