You might try running the outer 4 veros on one driver and the inside 4 on another. This would allow you to adjust the spread easier if it gets to intense in the middle.

I'm running a smaller cab right now 11"x20"x29" and have two cxa-3070 mounted through the ceiling. I run dimmers to control the intensity when they get to close. Works great

The basic recipe seems to be 4 cxb-3590 running off one meanwell hlg-185-c1400b driver. Your choice of heatsinks, active (pc cooler with fan) or passive (large surfboard style). One cxb covers one sq. Ft. if not more.

I don't believe it is overkill if you are reclaiming the heat to warm up the water. His heaters will just run that much less.

I found a great thread on this over at icmag in the side by side section. It was between mh and hps but it has some great examples of each. The OP just kills it with cheap mh bulbs.

Were you running the t5 reptile bulbs or the t8?

I would be interested in one if that is true. Have you ordered one?
