No there's no Hort bulbs for a security light. HPS is one color, yes they're far better than cfls, for flowering. Just adding some Daylight (6500 K) cfls with a HPS light would replicate the hort. type bulb. bulbs loose their entensity over time, ballasts last for many years. It's unfortunate...

long as you wash it off before it dries, it might dry out your pistils though that's about it. If your close to harvesting then forget about it.

mix a little dish detergent in a watering can full of water and ovehead water it let it sit a few minutes then rinse it off with straight water better to do it on a cloudy day or even better in the early morning with dew still on them.

what do you mean "last" as still working or same lumen output ? it still works after about a year of 12/12 service whether the output is still the same I don't know. A good starter light for people who don't want to deal with mail order or cfls.
