    The far red thread

That looks great, you could power cobs, far reds, and some pc fans all from one source Edit: just read some reviews about it and it was mentioned that if the power goes out it defaults to off when power is restored until the next time the timer turns on. This may not be an issue for far reds as...

    Screws for cob holders.

I believe they use 3mm screws, I used 4-40 or some equivalent. I am not sure where you live so I cant post links to hardware stores in your area. Try mcmaster.com if you want tools and hardware from one place. I know this topic has been covered.

New led setup OPIONIONS WANTED!! Cxa3070 cob leds

You need to do a little more reading before you start buying things. The "alpine 11 plus" is the cheap way to get an active heatsink. The thread about matching cobs and drivers will explain which cobs and drivers to match up. There are threads for dimming led drivers and for wiring pc fans on...

New led setup OPIONIONS WANTED!! Cxa3070 cob leds

Sheet metal will not be able to cool six cxas. Grab some alpine 11 plus cpu coolers and mount them to that. You need to prevent catastrophic failure from to much heat. Life span is not the most important factor as the chips will last long enough to become obsolete if you dont run them super hot...

    Got my GE BrightStiks

This is because they dont have a real heatsink. Leds will lose output when they are run to hot. If you can pry the chips off and mount them to an actual heatsink you could cool them correctly. You would also be able to mount the driver/socket outside of the grow area to further reduce heat. I...

New led setup OPIONIONS WANTED!! Cxa3070 cob leds

Cutter and kingbrite are selling cxb-3070 in higher bins for about the same price and cxb-3590 for $10 more. They don't have 2700k but do have 3000k and 5000k. Mouser has some 38.5v cxa-3590 2700k bb bins for $51 which would be much more light imo. Digikey has vero29 in 2700k for $27 which would...

    COB LED for veg?

When wiring up your potentiometer to the driver make sure you use another resistor inline so you don't dim the driver to far (down to zero) as many have warned it may damage the driver. You can run them without the extra resistor, just don't turn them all the way down.

Optimized LEDs Produce More at Higher Temperatures Than HID or COBs?

How do they know that plants can't use the other spectrums found in white light?

New led setup OPIONIONS WANTED!! Cxa3070 cob leds

Have you bought the parts already? Much more efficient bins are available now and easily sourced. I would also recommend drivers that are dimmable in case they get to much light. I like the spectrum choices. I would base the veg lighting off of how the plants respond. To much stretching, cut...

    Got my GE BrightStiks

The lumen measurements are taken in a sphere and measure 360 degrees of light output with the diffuser dome in place. With the dome removed and pointed right where you want it I am sure the light output will be much higher.

    Got my GE BrightStiks

Ge makes a "150w" 3 way bulb in 5000k. It is easy to take apart and the chip could be mounted on a heat sink for better performance. It is 22w but can be dimmed to 16w or 6w with a 3 way switch.

Flushing leaves hopefully didnt cause leaks HELP

I would rather play that one safe. If your trash collector spots anything that is a big security risk. The risk of getting busted or robbed skyrockets when people know about a grow. This is the stealth forum btw

Flushing leaves hopefully didnt cause leaks HELP

For future disposal you could set up a worm bin. Just feed the leaves and stems to the worms and they will poop it out as fertilizer a little bit later. I plugged a drain trying to flush leaves and stems back when I first started. Luckily the guy I called didn't question me as he pulled all...

    100w Chip LEDs, full spectrum!

Should be a step up from cfl just for the fact that the leds are directional in nature. If heat isnt an issue than you should be able to get good results. If heat is an issue than you may want to upgrade to some more efficient cobs like cree or veros. The warm white will probably out perform the...

    CXB3590 1500W

I've been wondering what I would like to do with a similar size space. The easiest idea is three cxb-3590 or cxb-3070 on a single heat sink. The meanwell hlg-120h-c1400 would drive three 36v cobs at apx. 50w each or you could spend $5 more for the hlg-185h-c1400 and have the ability to run an...

    6500 vs 5700 vs 5000K for veg

Got any proof for that? There is a solid debate on this topic in the side by side section over on icmag. The debate is mostly about mh vs hps in flower but the mh guys are making big buds and say it has more to do with genetics. Led provides a difference in strength over the hid equipment being...

    hps to led

Run the thouies and add cob bars as money allows. The mixed spectrum and ability to fill gaps in light coverage will help you learn the benefits of each.

    CXB3590 1500W

I paid $60 each for some cxa3070 3000k AB back in November of 2014. I haven't bought a bag since then so I dont feel like I overpaid at all.

    Burnt outout

Did you switch the light schedule to 12/12? If so keep flowering it. If not just put the mh back in. Try flowering with the mh for fun sometime, you might get a frosty harvest.
