Trimming Fan Leaves and Plants in General

No reason at all to trim if you can tuck. I LST my plants along a single straight line and so sometimes the fan leaves grow out and end up point down (because they pop out on the side of the node pointing down to the ground instead of out the side or up to the light) because they can't turn...

    More than One Plant

I'd advise using a spoon to some degree, I wouldn't encourage people to ever pull a healthy plant out of dirt

Yeah prices are gonna go yup as companies finally switch to 3w diodes, and many are making it so their panels can only lose 1 LED at a time. Imagine though for companies that have already been doing this the prices won't go up (unless everyone switching puts strains on supply).

The blackstar '240w' (actually uses more like 133-140w) is a pretty good light and you could get one for $250-300, that is the cheapest most proven unit for less than $300 with 3w diodes (its also put together in the US apparently). The most proven units for more than $300 with 3w diodes are...

That first one looks ok, I think that was the only LED unit at the indoor garden store I went to a couple weeks back and they wanted $500 . I don't see any reason not to like it, but since there may not be any proven journals and the unit is used you might want to get something else (besides for...

Irish Boy's 2011 Spectra Led Grow (Revenge Of Casey Jcnes))

Sry I thought we were both talking about growledhydro/GLH Spectra LEDs, 2 kessils for veg should be good enough and about 500w (a single 500w unit, 3-4 180s, two 290s) however you cut it on the flower side Hey Irish, do you mind if I help out people like this in your thread? I'm just trying to...

I think the '240w' (133-140w) Blackstar are the most proven LED units for under $300 (lowest I've seen is 250). I've never had one but I imagine even 12in veg would be fine since the whole thing is less than 140w counting fans, although you might want to back off to 2ft until they are a bit more...

Irish Boy's 2011 Spectra Led Grow (Revenge Of Casey Jcnes))

I would say so, my 395w is over kill for my 2.5 x 2.5 space at like 62w per square foot of floor and its about .5w per diode less powerful than the 500w. If I were you though i would get 3-4 180s or a couple 290s instead of a single 500w for that space, the advantage of more units is too great...

    Led Users Unite!

It was discussed a bit recently, I would have bet within the last 12 pages but who knows. We aren't really sure, the most powerful panels that run 12 spectrum/wavelengths on 3w diodes run 1.5-2w each don't seem to give people trouble flowering at 12in, and with a panel that strong I would...

Hey I think I got this off of reddit tonight, very handy list http://safeaccess.ca/research/cancer.htm

Who is selling 5w diode panels? Also I found this today on reddit I think? Figured everyone should keep it handy http://safeaccess.ca/research/cancer.htm

If I were you and I had 500 I would get a 180w GLH Spectra (units uses 180w), if not then I would get a '240w' blackstar (really only 133w, most companies mislead on wattage) or the best Isis you can. If you want to aim for the best try to go for all 3w diodes that run on 1.5-2w each (LEDs can't...

I would like to see more kessils in here, I've never actually seen a kessil only grow before. Does anyone have links to grows where only kessil was used in flowering?

You want to dry in space that is as dark as possible (light degrades THC). The only time you should ever need to change a light cycle is when switching to 12/12 for flowering Hey budlover do you have a link or can you remember any more details such as from what distance that reading was taken...

Hey who hear actually has a way of testing this? I would test my LED if I could but I recently lost my job and have no money for new grow stuff :( I've never heard much about LED lumens/lux levels compared to HID except from 2 year old posts with old LED tech, my 395w seems brighter than my 400w...

What have you found in that regard, or what do others seem to say about it? The GLH guy grows cannabis, and he recommends 16-24in in veg/flower. I flowered HID vegged plants with one at 12 in and I didn't notice any issue (some claim to veg at 8in with GLH), I'm don't think I will veg at less...

Oh yeah they're great! If those are 1w diodes those are the best 1w LED plants I've ever seen for sure! Even as good as most 3w grows, I'm just saying I can't wait to see set ups like this with full spectrum* 3w panels *(seems to have settled at 12 differen't wavelengths?) If I could grow on...

Great looking stuff! That is a lot of UFOs O.o / round LEDs I wonder what wattage the diodes are, the website doesn't say anything about it (so I assume they are 1w maybe 2w)

I don't think they help finish them early or not, but they might get bigger in the same amount of time from having so much more usable light (I don't think finishing has as much to do with the quality of the light as how far into 12/12 they are)

Well I dunno dude I'm just going by what that website says and it says 2w even on their newest lights. As far as my personal GLH Spectra 395w 2011 unit, it says "LG.PCB.2.0.2011.1" I don't want to take mine apart*
