A GENIUS (stupid?)idea to check bottom of pots for moisture?

The cheap $8 work great actually. They cant magically know if it's a dry spot so take several readings to get an accurate number. I use 2 meters at a time to save time...2 spots per probe, 4 spots total per pot. The cheap ones may be the only accurate cheap tool in this biz. .

Is this Super Soil Enough for an Entire SOG Grow? Ok for Seedlings?

The soil looks fine. You will almost definitely need to topdress unless you grow small plants very fast. I dont recommend starting in a rich soil but it can certainly be done, I have done it. Easiest is start in a basic soil after 3 to 4 weeks transplant to your supersoil. Have a topdress...

Is there an answer for perfect light cycle from the start to the end?

Dont know if you are a sports fan but look at the NBA. Can any NBA player tell you exactly how to be the best? Nope. They dont know. They know what they do and everybody else...and they spend most of their time trying new things to become better. It is somewhat scientific now, but how and...

Is there optimal amount of light that you can give for photoperiod plants? 18/6 to 24 hours? And when to swap?

...and what evolves out of all that are the organisms that are best adapted to their environment. Evolution is not simply random it is survival of the fittest adapting to all of life's challenges and changes.

A GENIUS (stupid?)idea to check bottom of pots for moisture?

Like all soil growers each round I feel the pull of coco getting stronger and stronger...

When to flush 1st time growing

Thundercat taught me this. This round I stressed and stressed how come snowcaine is a 7 to 9 week strain and not done?? Because they lied! Every round I have to impose self discipline to avoid freaking out on harvest date lol. Words of wisdom from TB!

A GENIUS (stupid?)idea to check bottom of pots for moisture?

I like the concept but think its overkill. I probe 2 moisture meters in each pot to the bottom and average it out, 2 readings per probe. Works great for me. 4 readings, an average, and a plan to water whenever they get below 5 at the bottom. My style. My pots are too heavy to lift (10 gal...

When to flush 1st time growing

Let me put it this way... My 7 to 9 week strain is coming down in 4 days...it is at Week 14, day 5. Snowcaine, I'm talking about you. Lol Twenty20 creates a strain out of almost pure sativas, a total of about 80% sativa, and they claim it's done in 7 weeks? It sure was pretty then! And not...

When to flush 1st time growing

When you KNOW it is coming down within 1 to 2 weeks you can stop feeding, if you choose, and just water to the finish. If your plants stay healthy until the end doing so is just a choice, not particularly important.

Some buds getting moldy should I forfeit this harvest?

If it is mold (hard to see in photos) you need to immediately change the humidity and get it to 50% or less. Mold grows typically in 50%+ humidity and in substances with high water content. If you can stabilize at or below 50% you should be able to salvage anything not already moldy...

Is there an answer for perfect light cycle from the start to the end?

I like this guy actually. You make a fair point. But I could tell he doesnt know because he asked the question he did...how do I just follow 1 2 3 to get the best result? No farmer believes that.

Is there an answer for perfect light cycle from the start to the end?

The issues are many...if you run 24/0,....WHAT are you running 24/0? That is why DLI came into the equation. That measure is what you want...but that is not perfect either. Each strain is different, wants certain grow conditions and nutrition. Any changes in grow style affect the result...

    AC Infinity LED

Good for AC it seems every product they make is high quality. And not too pricey either their exhaust fans are excellent. On a first glance the lights look nice they look like a rebranding of another company's light to me.

Airflow from AC Unit sufficient for healthy plants?

What kind of ac are you running, a window unit, or a larger home unit? What will humidity % be with the ac running keeping it 28c or less? I know its tropical but don't know what your indoor conditions are like. I 2nd the congrats on legal!

Is there optimal amount of light that you can give for photoperiod plants? 18/6 to 24 hours? And when to swap?

I agree on the triviality! I have no idea why we are discussing this. It's mostly because 2835 insists DLI has nothing to do with the Sun. I'm done on this thread.

Is there optimal amount of light that you can give for photoperiod plants? 18/6 to 24 hours? And when to swap?

Nature varies its amount of daily sunlight. Thats how we figured out when they flower. 18/6 is not known as "perfect". Having a dark period is recommended in almost every guide. You doing 24/0 and Cervantes mentioning it does not prove your point. Why is it so threatening to have 24/0 be...

Is there optimal amount of light that you can give for photoperiod plants? 18/6 to 24 hours? And when to swap?

From wiki: "...Scientists have tried to solve this by reporting light intensity measured for one or more sunny days at noon, but this is grasping the light level for only a very short period of the day. Daily light integral includes both the diurnal variation and day length, and can also be...

Is there optimal amount of light that you can give for photoperiod plants? 18/6 to 24 hours? And when to swap?

I have done both (24/0 and 18/6 or 20/4 with a heater. Both can work. The first few weeks I run 24/0. I get it. I have no criticism of running 24/0. Heck is the oil heater more expensive than the lights? Lots of variables! I think it is easier to run with a dark period, and the vast...

Is there optimal amount of light that you can give for photoperiod plants? 18/6 to 24 hours? And when to swap?

I dont think I said it needs a dark period. I do think almost everybody uses one. My comment is simply that nature tells us how to grow. You can do it different and that works but imo nature has told us what to do. There is no proof it is "better", I believe there is proof it can be faster.

Is there an answer for perfect light cycle from the start to the end?

I commented in your other thread also. A lot of chaff in that thread. I think you are asking a fair question. The industry however tends to look at it the other way...what is the MINIMUM DLI th they need to thrive? They take into account cost so efficiency becomes critical in making a...
