If they have no roots then there are no roots to use up the oxygen. Me, I, don't use a dome. I just stick the clones in wet peat pucks, put the clones in a cupboard (like 50*50*50cm) with a led bulb and wait. All I do is make sure the pucks stay wet.

Uhm, I keep my pucks soaked. You can keep clones in plain water so I don't see why the pucks would be too wet.
