Thermoelectric wine cooler drying and curing - DIY

As Mag said you can check out the lotus cure and go that route with a compressor fridge. For the way we are describing in this thread it will absolutely not work, it must be thermoelectric.

We have been over the temp, I don’t think you’ll have a problem with that unless your running it outside or in a room that exceeds 90f, and even then it will hold temp, just maybe not 55. The cannatrol recommends running at 68, probably to avoid this discussion, and that would be easy to...

How close am i to harvest AutoFlower day 70 seed bank recommended 75 to 85 days?

No worries, they will fatten up and the hairs will turn orange and recede into the bud as it swells. It will look more like this. Notice almost no white hairs and the hairs you see swallowed up by the calyxes swelling. The worst thing you could do is chop this early.

Just putting the bud direct into a grove bag will not work, at least according to the grove bag directions. The buds must be dried properly first, then into the bags. They will allow humidity in to a certain point to keep the buds at a curing humidity, but they are not for drying. In a...

Yes, she looks great, some nice looking frost starting. Once all the white hairs turn orange and the bud swells up she will be ready, good news is she’ll pack on a lot of weight between now and then, you just have to be patient.

I don’t know about the dogs, I’d go for the shawarma next door. We used to stop at the different street vendors overseas and get them, delicious.

It’s a cock on a clock, and the time is 6:42 for the kids out there, I know it’s not digital so half the people are probably confused as to what it even is.

It cracks me up people are worried about a flat spot, it makes taking pictures of the bud much easier, and once it comes out of the grinder or gets turned into hash I can never seem to find where the flat spot went. I guess if I was selling and my customers complained I might try to find a...

Thanks, I switched from the wood frames to pvc last grow for the top trellis and loved it, so switched the scrog frames as well this grow. Much easier to set up, and easy to move up or down a well. Thanks, It is amazing the differences between the two, I can’t wait to see how the sativas fill...

I’ll throw a few pics of the girls up being Garden Wednesday. Here’s the golden tiger at 4.5 weeks in flower, she won’t even slow down stretching. I knew it would happen but somehow hoped it would slow about now, I have another foot or so before it becomes a pain. This is the Malawi...

I don’t have an issue with fish fert, I use crab and shrimp meal but I make it myself. But the labels do verge on cartoonish. I was picturing these, which I know many people use successfully, but do they really need them? I think many run into trouble trying to use all the bottles some guy at...

Yes. Depending on your grow style you may use a few things. I am mostly organic now, but use espoma tomato-tone and a bit of lime, etc. If it comes in a bottle with a cartoon on front, you don’t need it.

    Cannatrol question. When to trim

I have all sorts of pictures in the the thread here on building the cooler https://www.rollitup.org/t/thermoelectric-wine-cooler-drying-and-curing-diy.1088980/ Here’s a couple of pics of bud that I cured in the cooler, not sure they are from the same run as above or not.

    Urgent tips pls

Your plant looks hungry, what have you been top dressing with? You only have the pot 1/2 full of soil. I would add another several inches of the original soil you started with and water it in to start if it has nutes.

    Cannatrol question. When to trim

I have never flipped the buds while drying, I almost never open the door anymore unless I need to. They do sometimes get a bit of a flat spot, but I put that part in a grinder so it works out. They are very aromatic, and once you break open a bud it’s wonderful.

    Cannatrol question. When to trim

You can pack it up fairly well, just leave a little room for air and don’t double stack the buds. I do a rough wet trim first, all fan leaves and big stems go. This is the diy version of the cannatrol.

    SIP thread -- (Sub-Irrigated Planter)

I generally don’t weigh it either, but very near to over a lb a plant depending. Each scrog net is 32”x32” and has its own light at 450w+ though. I have a 4 plant limit so go big. 27 gal is probably overkill, which is part of why I haven’t tried it yet.

No I have not tried the lotus cure. Something about putting the buds in pizza boxes made me look elsewhere, but I later did hear some people love it. If you have fridge room give it a shot and let us know how it goes.
