I have an HLG 600R, a Spider Farmer se5000, and an updayday 450w on them now. The HLG is in the middle and a bit higher, and has the UVA bar as well. I try to average about 1000 ppfd over the canopy, but it varies from 1300 at the tallest colas in the middle to 700 at the far corners.

Someone put two in, they could dry a bit faster if I recall but not much. I think they took the second one out, it pulls enough moisture out as is, the others just take up space so less room for buds.

They pull out humidity way too fast, this method needs a thermoelectric cooler. If you want to dry in a compressor based fridge it’s called the lotus cure, lots of info on that as well, but basically you put buds in pizza boxes or paper bags to keep them from loosing humidity too fast.

I’ve never had cut grass smell in mine, so have no idea. Usually that is from chopping early but if your other bud from the same plant smells better who knows, but I have never had that happen or heard of anyone else having that happen.

I would get them far from my grow room first. Unless they are some amazing strain I would toss them and kindly ask my friend not to bring over infested plants.

Hope you have a great harvest. I wouldn’t put the trim in the cooler, but then I rarely have room for the buds. If it’s not crowded it should be ok. Just not too thick a layer.

If ppfd is equal, the higher the light the bigger the footprint covered by the light as well.
