Hey-How do You empty your reservoir?

Expensive though, my sumersible pump can drain 125 litres in about 25mins. And only cost £15. the 2000 litres an hour version is only a bit more at £24. Plus about another 15 for 2x5m tubing and a connector as I needed tubing more like 10m.

Hey-How do You empty your reservoir?

I use a submersible pump with appropriate length hose atached to it. Good for filling and draining, just flip it round so the pump is in the bath tub or the rez accordingly. You'll still be left with an inch or two of water in the rez, due to the height of the pump, but thats easy enough to deal...

Only 4 fan leaves no growth

Yeah I did some origonal dp Skywalkers a fair few years back and they did a simmilar thing, they seemed to stall at the mature seedling stage and didn't put out any proper leafs for a while... they turned out to be monsters. If it aint broke, don't fix it.

    DWC water level for seedlings.

Thanks, yes, I figured once the roots hit the water properly, I'll lower the water level in the tank, ec/ph permitting. I'm just a bit worried about the transfer phase, as growing in dirt before, I just plonk the seedlings striaght into the compost.

    DWC water level for seedlings.

Hi all, Just wondering if I'm on the right track, first time with DWC, was compost previously. I have this: https://www.hydrohobby.co.uk/dwc-oxypot-4-kit.html I think I will transfer the seedlings, still in root riot cubes into the baskets of clay pebbles, once the roots breach the cubes. I...

    Whats wrong with my plant

Just saw it's an auto- what light cycle are you using? and have you changed it? but even so, it looks pretty healthy to me so 'don't try to fix it if it ain't broke'.

    Whats wrong with my plant

if its only been in the flower photo period for circa 60 days, it's not enitirely abnormal. It looks healthy enough, so I'd suggest not doing anyting too drastic. give it another 30 days and it will thicken up. Looks like it had some shock factor that may have stalled things.. so just play it out.

    Slow down exshaust fan

Slightly different thought on this... You can get mechanical plug timers with 15min intervals/over 24hr, so you could just flick off every second pin for 15mins on/15mins off...

    pump/hose for oxypot4 water changes

Thanks :) I think that pump, whilst very pretty, is a bit overkill! 325 gallons per hour! o_O

    pump/hose for oxypot4 water changes

Just wondering if there are any off the shelf solutions for this? it's a bigg ol' tank so I was thinking I could rigg up a hose from the tent room to the bathroom with a pump like THIS for occasional refills/drains, but I'd need to give the pump it's own little power supply so I can wrap the...

    Nutrient Uptake

Interesting, can you just use a cheap acid like white vinigar or something?

    Nutrient Uptake

Yes for sure, thats exactly what I mean, so set ph at say 5.6 for arguments sake, and then let it slowly creep up to ~6.4 naturaly, and then either add more fresh water or nutes to bring it back down, like a cycle. (within safe limits), EC permitting. I'm just struggling to grasp the...

    Nutrient Uptake

Thanks, yes, sorry for confusing this thread. I was meaning why not use both tools - if ph gets to high (alkaline), add fert (+acid), if it gets too low add more water to dilute and raise ph. and maybe use PH+ or PH- solution in an emergency. Assuming EC stays within range, which for DWC the...

    Nutrient Uptake

I might be mistaken, forgive me if so, but I thought if EC is good and PH is good then you can just top up the rez with water and then add nutes to lower the ph, as the PH will naturaly slowly creep up? my tap water is about ph7.2/4, EC pretty much zero. it's 'soft' water so I've purchased soft...

    Nutrient Uptake

Hi, newbie here, well not newbie, but new to DWC & LED, previously HPS & compost. Been reading a lot, and this seems like quite an active message board.. I've not started yet, but I'm leaning more toward if pH and EC is in tune, (seems a much lower EC is better for DWC?) with temps and RH, and...
