All you're trying to do is decarb? How do you know it failed? You're just baking the weed... I use a thick glass casserole dish. Put however much flower you need in a single layer on the pan, cover with tin foil, then bake at 230 for 30-40 min.

What you're talking about is called The Lotus Method. It's a long process, but makes for a really smooth smoke. I don't think it's worth the extra hassle, personally, but it's been a long time since I've done it. May need to revisit it.
