I've been curious about then as well. I noticed their strips have the orsam diodes for the red, pretty interesting. May give them a try on the next build up.

Including shipping, around $250-260. Since I now have all the connectors, wires, thermal tape, etc. I could do another one around $200-210.

Heat reasons mainly, yes. I like to run a cooler tent. 76-78°. I have it in a 5x5 as a back filler next to a Photobio MX.

DYI build, 4 to 4.5' bar style need help

Got the day off today, so I stayed up late last night to finish her up. Went with a 6" spread over 4" as I felt after taking measurements, this would fill the space more adequately. Here are the pics I took from start to finish. Added a ground from driver to board since it will be remote...

DYI build, 4 to 4.5' bar style need help

So with just the 2 F strips I would wire in parallel and not in a series correct. Just about to wire these bad boys up. So from the live, positive to bar 1 , and positive to bar 2. Same for the neutral to negative. I should not wire in series, as I understand it, that would be - form live to...

DYI build, 4 to 4.5' bar style need help

Thank you so much man. I think I am truly starting to understand now. So I run 2 FB24B strips to the HLG-185-48A driver. I would basically be pulling 92.5w from each strip for a total of 185 watts on the bar fixture. So from what I can gather is that each strip can around 170w at 100%, for a...

DYI build, 4 to 4.5' bar style need help

This is exactly what I'm looking at. So your running 2 4ft steps per bar correct. So 4 total running both bars. You put the strips on 2in aluminum plates, what are you mounting the 2in strips on, and what sort of heat sink do you have on top of that. Just trying to understand. I'm new to this...

DYI build, 4 to 4.5' bar style need help

Ok I'm really liking this idea. I guess where I'm not understanding in how do you run at half max current. Can this be accomplished with the driver? So for example, get a driver that can power them at max, and crank it down. What driver would you suggest for this build, the link above is...

DYI build, 4 to 4.5' bar style need help

I am wanting to dyi my own 1 single bar that is 4' to 4.5' long. I do not want more than 4" wide. I would be happy with 150w-200w draw. Prefer b301 diodes. This is my 1st build so I am not sure where I can purchase all the parts needed to do this from scratch. I know I will need a heatdink and...
