    NukaKola's Indoor (Coco/LED)

Harvest (Day 62): Sorry for the lack of updates I’ve been extremely busy. They were harvested at day 62. I would of liked to take them another week but I spotted a few spider mites so I decided to take them down. I’m suspecting the yield will be much better than last harvest despite only having...

Need help seeing if I have everything needed

I always run my temps around 83F, for seedling & veg I keep my RH around 65-70%, once buds start developing I taper down to 45-50%. Some people have success running a higher RH during flower but I’m not able to tend to my plants frequently and don’t want to risk PM/budrot issues. Drying is...

Need help seeing if I have everything needed

Just the T4 exhaust is fine for a 2x4 with 260w of LED. No need for active intake, but if you are worried about light leaks you can use AC infinities cheap 4” or 6” booster fan with a short run of ducting with some loops or bends to minimize light leaking in. Humidifiers aren’t necessary but...

    Need advice for lights

Spider Farmers won’t grow any better buds than Meijius or Kingbrites from Alibaba. The money you save can be put towards your electricity bill. Get 2 of the 240w units to cover your area. I own Kingbrites, HLGs & DIY Samsung strips and the difference in bud quality is negligible.

    Need advice for lights

Spider Farmer's are just overpriced China lights. I got my Kingbrites shipped from Alibaba to the US in 5 days.

Which ones do you have? I could use some.

OK, WHO HAS THE FATTEST BUDS AND USES BLOOM BOOST TO GET THERE

Bloom boosters, just like supplements, are unnecessary if you use full spectrum base nutrients. All the additional supplements and boosters from flashy nutrient companies are just marketing gimmicks to make more $$. It would be the equivalent of taking supplements on top of a full spectrum...

    You cannot overwater coco

Water contains dissolved oxygen and the levels will diminish over time from the roots absorbing it causing the root system to be deprived of oxygen and anaerobic bacteria to take over. Hence why DWC or aero cloners can grow a plant full-cycle due to the addition of oxygen.

    You cannot overwater coco

In most cases yes because the roots will absorb excess moisture and prevent oxygen deprivation. When no roots are present and you are constantly watering the medium it will promote pathogens and provide lower than ideal oxygen levels. It’s no different than rapid rooters. Having them constantly...

    You cannot overwater coco

My irrigation is set to run 30 mins after the lights come on (plants take time to wake up) and 6 hrs into lights on so that the coco has the lowest moisture content during lights out.

    You cannot overwater coco

You can definitely overwater seeds in coco. You’re essentially drowning them when repeatedly watering them without any of the moisture being absorbed by a root system. I water my flowering plants 2x a day and they are in straight coco. When people say “you can’t overwater coco” they are...

    You cannot overwater coco

Why would you water something daily that hasn't even sprouted? LOL You don't feed coco daily or multiple times per day until the roots fill the pot. I have almost 100% germ rate in straight coco. I plant seeds, water until runoff and then don't water again until they have sprouted.

Is it okay to turn my mars hydro ts1000 up slightly in intensity in order to warm my pots about 4 degrees during germination

No worries, we've all been there! Just keep things simple. The most common beginner mistakes are overwatering, transplanting too early, and feeding too much/too soon. Your soil mix should have plenty of food to just use water for quite some time.

Is it okay to turn my mars hydro ts1000 up slightly in intensity in order to warm my pots about 4 degrees during germination

LED's don't produce all that much heat downwards, most of the heat is radiated upwards. In order for your LED's to raise the temps of the pots or your soil several degrees they will have to be quite close and being that close will most likely damage the seedlings once they break soil due to the...

DYI build, 4 to 4.5' bar style need help

Yep you got it! If you run 2 strips on the 185w driver you don’t need heat sinking since the strips will be running ~54% like you mentioned and won’t produce enough heat to require them. Personally I usually buy more strips to run them at a lower current so I don’t need to use heatsinks. This...

DYI build, 4 to 4.5' bar style need help

If you get a Meanwell HLG-185H-48A driver it puts out 185w @ 48v, or ~3.85A. Wiring the driver to two strips in parallel would effectively reduce the amount of current going to each strip in half. The LT-FB24B strips have a max rating of 3.6A, so if you ran a single strip on the driver listed...

DYI build, 4 to 4.5' bar style need help

I would go with Samsung F-series double row strips. To get around 150-200w while keeping it under 4” you could use 2 of the LT-FB24B strips. They are rated at a max of 3.6A @ 48v, so theoretically you could use a single strip ran at max for ~170w. This strip would require heat sinking since it...
