I like your first idea, but if you only flower with it, I'd suggest 3000K, 90cct. I hung one HLG 288 diode unit in a 2x2.5' tent, and the ambient temperature has gone up 7-9 degrees Fahrenheit. You're still getting more lm/watt out of the LEDs though.
