    Wow great idea , never thought about it , on the way to get some malibu compost & will get that 45 bags as well ( 2) damn rubbermaid totes are a PIA they breakdown & the handles snap so u screen the worms out when u harvest the EWC ? I was doing the bait the new bin & let them move up

    I layered it as you describe in a 40 gallon trash can it's vented basically I redid that 40 can full of fig leaf , the bottom was sinking & rotting well i threw the old figs in there as well so i layed it with new leaf on bottom & layered pellets throughout till the old stinkin stuff is now on...

    I lived in a cabin that had one of those worked great But that size is ok for a couple ppl now a large family it don't compost human waste as fast as composter does garden waste my landlord tould me to feed once in awhile with food scraps
