    Step into my grow room

I'm using BAC organic bloom now, with bat guano extract as flower booster. Plus calcium (coccoliths) and magnesium (kieserite). The vegging plants get the same solution as the flowers, they are all happy with it.

    my disaster drawer

Salmone why don't you start your own project. I think every man should have a project, something to work on with his hands. The reality of doing things is very different from reading about it. Btw, feel free to link or use the stuff I put here, there is no video though.

    Exotic COBS ...

Anything that has the dies (chips) directly attached to the same substrate can be called a COB. Practically speaking, if it doesn't have through-hole or SMD LEDs, it's a COB.

More Money Than Brains - a water cooled cab build

She is looking tasty, can go perhaps a few days more. But man you're plants are so small! I think the perlite is holding you back big time by constricting root growth. Just check the roots. They can't go deep and there is probably little lateral root growth.

    CREE CXA 3000°K/80CRI spectrum analysis.

Remember that supra's spreadsheet is based on minimum values which puts the Vero at disadvantage. Comparing typical values is more fair. Since the LER is indeed about the same it's surprisingly useful to look at the typical lm/W figures. @getsoutalive thanks for your readings! I had not...

Testing InnoLed's 120w horticultural led fixture= Let there be warm white/ high cri light!:)

I don't know what you had tested there but it's not a PAR footprint.

Testing InnoLed's 120w horticultural led fixture= Let there be warm white/ high cri light!:)

It must be a pretty weak light compared to normal COBs. The point sourciness is also not ideal. I'm impressed how well psuagro did given this light. Looking at the evenness of the plants he must have rotated them like it's a barbeque. I think it is only out of respect for him that Innoled is not...

Hey Hans 80 Owners! Are We Getting The Most Out Of Our Panels? Or Can We Do Better?

A simple improvement to the Hans panel cooling would be to give the fan about 1cm standoff and add a shroud that forces the expelled air across the aluminium plate. The shroud can simply be some surface with a cut-out for the fan.

    the effects of cyan/green

The transmittance of 500nm cyan through a green leaf is very little, on the order of 5%. This means it does not have the penetrating power of green or yellow. Neither does it hit the phototropins like blue does (for all the blue light mediated responses). Cyan is basically the most worthless...

    vero 29 questions

Church you could put some smaller 5000K vero's around each vero 29. Like four vero 10's. If you have some voltage to spare (27V) on your driver they can be in the same string, the small vero's in parallel. You'd get more power, little better efficiency and kickass spectrum. Since you're vegging...

    vero 29 questions

My hunch is that with 3500K the top leaves will absorb more radiation (since there is more red), be more active and burn up faster. If this is a good thing, I dunno. If they die before the flowers are ready then I would think not. I try to distribute the photosynthesis as much as possible, also...

    vero 29 questions

You would need two daisy chained pairs of wago 3's or two wago 5's for that (one slot is used up by the incoming wire). Sure you can do that. As a tip: The fan wires are very thin, too thin for the wago. What you can do is take the stripped ends of three wires, twist them around each other and...

    vero 29 questions

The Meanwell cable joiner (CJ04-2) is expensive, you can use Wago 222 connectors instead. These you can also use to tie the AC side of the drivers together so that only one wall plug is needed. For the fans you can use for example Meanwell LPV-20-12 for a maximum of 6 fans or LPV-35-12 for max...

    vero 29 questions

The nominal power is 81W. It can be driven up to 173W but this is not advisable (cooling becomes harder, efficiency & lifetime drops). It's best to stick around the 81W. For you space about 8 Vero 29's would do the job.

    Step into my grow room

Yeah I really like the HLG drivers. The veg strings are not balanced btw, one is brighter than the others. Not much of a problem and actually pretty handy in the veg room. Also, the most current is flowing through the Vero's with the lowest Vf, which tend to be the best succeeded chips. So it's...

    million candle led lights?

A torch doesn't give enough light. Plants need a lot of light. You could use a LED flood light.

    million candle led lights?

It's a good marketing thing. If you want to know how much light it gives look at the lumens.
  18. MrFlux

    million candle led lights?

The candle unit (or rather candela) is a measure of lumen per sterradian; sterradian is like a two dimensional angle, in this case of the light beam. If a given amount of light (lumens) is focused in a beam, the number of candela's goes up the tighter the beam (or the smaller its angle) is. The...

    vero 29 questions

A Vero 29 @1050mA will be ~38W of LED power. If you want 70W per Vero you could use Meanwell LPF-90-48, or it's dimmable variant the LPF-90D-48 (both are 1880mA). It's easiest to glue the Vero to the cooler with a thermal glue like Arctic Silver.

    Step into my grow room

Scotch I have never experienced the real Californian-only Blue Dream cut. So I have no clue if HSO seeds are anything close. I have sprouted two beans, still have a third one left. The two plants have about the same pheno.
