WTf...I'm looking at that picture after I uploaded it and it looks like the white plastic casing part is cracked...I dont have that on any of the other COBs...I'll fire it up and see if it works tomorrow...ugh. Ok, done hijacking this thread

I'm imagining square ducting with little holes drilled out for the COBS to peak through with the rest of the setup inside the duct. That'd be pretty cool...Maybe attach a filter to one end and kill two birds with one stone like someone said earlier

what I meant about the heat sink was I would do large enough that if the fan failed it wouldnt kill the led but not so large that it would be cost prohibitive

Sounds like youre on the right track..i just got confirmation from digikey that my cxb3070s are on the way...at 1.4a they are like 44% efficient.
