chilLED: water cooled, ducted, or active led fixture

Well without the protection afforded by the anti-corrosive properties of antifreeze, you could end up with more corrosion issues including leaks. But this is why I wanted to do it using a single bar. From other posts I've seen on this type of cooling system, with all the tubes/fittings...

chilLED: water cooled, ducted, or active led fixture

I would think an antifreeze mix would be best as it helps prevent corrosion.

chilLED: water cooled, ducted, or active led fixture

How would you use the tubing? I was looking at copper, rectangular copper tube does exist, but it AIN'T CHEAP, lol. How would you interface the cobs to them, solder a square piece of copper plate to a coil of copper pipe?

chilLED: water cooled, ducted, or active led fixture

So for the "bar" are you using the extruded rectangular aluminum tubing? I settled on the 6" x 1.5" because it seemed to give a larger surface:volume ratio which I thought would help dissipate the heat better. I can weld, but don't have aluminum mig capability at this time (need to upgrade my...

chilLED: water cooled, ducted, or active led fixture

Hello all, I know I'm new to this game but there's some skills I have that might help me with a project, which is to build an 8' x 8' grow room, i'll sketch the layout later, but suffice to say I'd like to run 8 - 8' cob fixtures. Priced the stuff over at HeatsinkUSA and the total came out to...

Introducing CobKits.com - specializing in DIY and Citizen COBs

Well I got tired of chomping at the bit, especially after watching all of Mau5's videos, so I just ordered some parts from Cobkits, cant wait to put it together (I love DIY projects ;?)

DiY LEDs - How to Power Them

Also I'm having a hard time finding what these stand for: Version# Bin CRI (70/80/90 ???) PFC PWM, Resistance And are they important, or should I just stick to looking at just the main numbers? Yeah, this is literally making me dizzy, lol, just can't wrap my head around some of this (it...

DiY LEDs - How to Power Them

Well I checked there and cannot find this particular COB, nor any in the 5000K range, although a couple of their higher end units, like the 1825, jump from 4000K to 6500K, but they're twice as expensive and I really want one in the 5000K optical frequency.

DiY LEDs - How to Power Them

THere's just too many variables/options listed on this site, it all starts to look like Chinese to me, lol. I wish there was some kind of simplified spread sheet where you could plug in the numbers you want and it would spit out a kit that had all the parts you need ;?D

DiY LEDs - How to Power Them

That's where I'm finding it hard to glean the info. Does HLG-240H-15B mean that it's a 240-250v @15a/15,000mA and I forget what the B stands for (of the types A-D I thought I wanted B, is that right?).

DiY LEDs - How to Power Them

Hello, so I'm a complete noob where this LED is concerned, I'm beginning to get a handle on it but still confused a bit when trying to order/match parts. I'd like to build a small 4-COB unit, 5000K CCT, using (possibly) this: CitiLED CLU046-1812C1-503M2G2 5000K COB LED Version 4 CRI 80+...

    Flowering with Ecosunlite

Really? Why is that, or is it because these lights aren't made over there? I thought they were all made in China, everything else is, lol. Didn't I read somewhere that they're being made there now, or are they just knockoffs? I consider it more a labor of love, lol, or a job that pays me...

Mypassion, I'm in the U.S., stuck in the Midwest at the moment, but planning on "retiring" to Oregon sometime soon ;?). How about you?

    Flowering with Ecosunlite

Mypassion, yeah at those prices I can see that Econsunlite is indeed cheaper, too bad I was looking forward to another challenging project, lol. So maybe I'll just have to start with 4 of those units and just for fun build one myself as I can afford the parts (maybe have one done by...

    Flowering with Ecosunlite

Cory, 1.4gms per watt sounds fantastic, I'd be happy with around 1gm so that's good news ;?) "DIY try cutter.au or timbergrowlights.com or cobkits (people use one cob per square foot at around 50w)" So if my grow area is 80 square feet, then I need 80 cobs??? That sounds like a lot, lol...

    Flowering with Ecosunlite

Lol, no I don't want to spend a lot of money, although I have considered taking out a small loan from my credit union in order to change all the lights over in one fell swoop. That way I can also get rid of the big inline duct fan which will cut down on the noise (which you can just hear...

    Oregon Elite Seeds

30 hrs and 12 of 13 have popped ,:hump::weed: including the two runts, and the one that hasn't is the biggun o_O, figures. So I guess the moral here is that one should never judge a seed by its size, lol. And I think that biggun's cracked so maybe be seeing the root when I wake up...

OWG New Strain Coming Soon: Rosaberry

@Jd Short, I've been thinking about changing up my nute program and was wondering, if it's not a trade secret, lol. what you feed your girls, any additives, or are you straight organic? I'm running a sort of modified hempy bucket system but with the addition of a percentage of organics added...
